Yeah, it’s sad that such a puck possession team can’t use this skill in OT. Sadly, I too am disinterested in this format. Perhaps a college football model would be much better. Give each team a powerplay – if it’s still tied, maybe do a 5 on 3. Just split the 2 points, no loser point.

I have the same frustration with Bednar overplaying veterans, especially in an Olympics year. That lack of rest really worries me long-term.

And I too thought Blackwood was subpar. Totally understandable as he’s shaking off rust. But he consistently made himself look small in the net. Can see the skating and angles aren’t quite up to mid-season form. He’s just shaking off the rust and I’m confident he’ll be fine.
