To me, it felt like MacKinnon finally said “I’ve been carrying you all this season, now that we finally have some reinforcements back, I’m going to take a break and see if you can pitch in.” This is very un-MacKinnon, because he’s almost never a passenger but also hard to blame him. He’s been Atlas this season with all the injuries and doing an otherworldly job of it. I suspect he’ll come out firing on this road trip again and excited to play with some of his favorite collaborators again after the rust is shaken off.
