Donovan Ollie will now score touchdowns for the CSU Rams instead of against them — athletic P5 transfer commits to the Green & Gold

Donovan Ollie torched Colorado State when the Rams traveled to Washington State in 2022. In what was arguably the best game he’s ever played, the 6-foot-3, 212-wide receiver went off with a career-high seven receptions for 82 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Cougars cruised to a 38-7 win over Jay Norvell’s squad.

Flash forward a couple of years and much like Tory Horton who used to do his damage against the Green & Gold, Ollie will now have the opportunity to put points on the board for the Rams.

The veteran wide-out announced on Twitter Wednesday that he is committed to CSU and will play his final season of eligibility in Fort Collins.

Over his three seasons in the Pac-12, Ollie recorded 70 receptions for 807 yards and four touchdowns. He then spent the 2023 season at the University of Cincinnati, though he recorded only two catches during his time there before announcing in November that he would be transferring again.

Ollie is obviously a player that has not produced big numbers consistently throughout his career, however, he is a guy that Ram fans have seen make some big plays firsthand.

With Louis Brown electing to transfer to San Diego State and Dallin Holker declaring for the NFL Draft, the addition of another big-bodied playmaker to compliment the receiving corps is a nice win for the offense. The fact that QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi will have all spring to gain a rapport with him is big, too.

2024 is setting up to be a pivotal season for the program. It’s nice to see Norvell and Co. able to add some more experience to the mix. You can never have too many guys to try and stretch the field with.
