Before the 2023 NFL season started, Sean Payton told USA Today’s Jarrett Bell that he would be “pissed off” if the Denver Broncos did not make the playoffs.

After finishing 8-9, the Broncos did not make the playoffs.

Payton was asked after the season if it was a success and did not sound too pleased.

However, the Broncos finished with three more wins than the season before with Nathaniel Hackett leading the team and took steps in the right direction.
