Thanks for getting these out quick and letting the people know what’s up AJ. I’d like to see his chart against Comeau’s. I guess I can see where the Avs are coming from with both Calvert and Cole. You can really never be too deep if you are trying to win the Cup. And we are trying to win the cup, right? I’m glad the Avs aren’t sitting on their hands waiting for it to come to them. If a third one of these articles showed up in the coming hours indicating that the Avs have added some serious scoring punch (say, JVR or Neal, or both), I would not be disappointed. We (Avs nation) have the best line in hockey and our defense is suddenly getting talented, young, and deep. Winning and losing in the NHL is so much about confidence and player mindsets anyways. Just look at Vegas, or the Avs from the last 2 seasons.

We want the cup right? Roy was the problem, or the dynamic between them, or something. Super Joe can do it. Dynasty even. Dream big Avs nation. Joe was our Captain back in the days of 2 cups for good reason. Of course the best wrister of all time and the best goalie of all time weren’t going to be able to run an organization together. Divergent mindsets.

What they are missing in Roy is that win now mentality. Mackinnon is peaking and that’s when you should build up for a cup winning team. They’re not doing that at all they’re signing small free agents to bottom lines at a time when they have just one good offensive line that can seriously compete.

If he is in a bottom 6 role, I doubt we’ll see much of him, considering he seems injury prone. I am interested in how they are thinking of using him – Bourque replacement is an interesting idea. Another 3y contract that may get hung out as Seattle bait?
