Heard you talk about DL on today’s Pod…. 53 man roster construction 7 is a lot of DL to carry. One thing to keep in mind when thinking about your 53 Is the game day 46.. you’ll only dress 5 DL. Your wasting so many roster spots. Standard 3 – 4 roster is 6 DL, 9 LB (ILB & OLB), 10 DB. Remember that defenses are in sub 65% of the time ( 2 DL). Clinton McDonald was brought in as safety net because of Gotsis, and or, camp injury like last year.

When are these “shirts” coming out? I am hopeing that when I come from China for our man “Burrito Brad” aka “Commish” aka “The Man”‘s fantasy league draft they will be ready. That might be a good time to hand them out.
Football wise, are you guys interested in starting some fantasy talk? Who do you think will be serious Fantasy players from the team? How early is too early to draft our Defense of the “No fly Zone” and “Ground Control.”

Second comment/question
As for the offense roster construction — Ideal would be 2 QB, 4 RB, 4 TE/FB, 6 WR, 9 OL. Of all of these the 9 OL is almost set in stone, but the rest gets tricky. This leads me to my question: Of the practices you have seen, and the conversations you had, how much are we using Andy Janovich? He is the key to figuring out we’re the real roster battles are. And also…. I loath even hearing the name Paxton, ( I don’t want a pirate for a QB), but if he doesn’t win the back up job I’m afraid we won’t cut him which would be a wasted roster spot. And could cost some one like Phillip Lyndsey a spot. What do you think, should I be rooting for Paxton??

How was I not listed as a key member of this community at the end of this podcast?!! This is a total outrage!!!! I AM BURRITO BRAD!!!! I have rights!!!!!!
Ok, now that unpleasantness is out of the way… the saying goes if you have two “good quarterbacks” on your roster, that probably means you don’t have one. What does it mean for us that we have four “good running backs”?! How big of a concern is this? It’s great that they are all good, but I’m worried that t means we could also not have any that are GOOD.
Sincerely,
Burrito Brad
A non key member of this community, apparently.

Deep breaths Brad! In through the nose and out through the mouth! You are always part of the OGs!

T. Wood again — by the way first time submitting just got membership yesterday. Love the show been listening for a while. Heard you say it is to early for roster construction. Could not disagree more. Most years there are really only 3 to 4 spots open on a team as good as the broncos. Think about it: on defense it’s easy. Our DL will be exactly the same as last year (barring injury, or incarceration) LB has one real open spot at ILB4, and DB’s you have 3 S’s and 4 CB’s that are locks. Offense gets a little more tricky because of 2 “x” factors — how many QB’s and will we carry a FB?

As always, thanks for all the insight Ryan and Zac! When VJ calls Marquette King a weapon, do you think he is simply referring to his big leg and the ability to flip the field? Or have they beeen working on fake punts and field goals where King has been a centerpiece?? I love aggressive special teams calls, but the coaching just better be on point unlike the fake punt we tried last year… Thanks!

What have we seen from Menelik at guard and Cyrus at guard and tackle in minicamp and OTAs? Can we still grasp on to hope Cyrus is a formidable tackle in the league just plagued by injuries or should we put that to rest? I read you guys story and think a lineup of bolles, Leary, paradis, McGovern, veldheer, is going to be Solid but health will be a concern and I worry about our depth up front. Appreciate you guys

Hey guys first time posting a question for the pod. Love the show. I’m wondering if Su’a Cravens is an everydown safety or if he will be strictly in the box/ #3. I am a big Darian Stewart fan from 2 Year’s ago, but he was almost as frustrating as Paxton’s facial hair last year. So I’m wondering if Darian could end up being the #3?

One more question for you: have all the draft picks been signed? Last I heard we were still waiting on Chubb and at least one of the 3rd rounders to sign, but haven’t heard anything in a while on that. Thanks!

Cheers, boys! As we walk into this desert, let’s be glad that the World Cup will be happening until July 15th, flowing seamlessly into training camp.
SALARY CAP QUESTION: I know the position groups where the large chunks of money are going (OLB, WR, OL, etc.) but where are we Savin money? What are our value position groups for the next couple seasons?
Also I’m no music producer, but tell Pleasure Hores guys that their music is killer when played at 1.5 speed.

Got to catch up on the last weeks of podcast in the last two days. I spent a week camping (some what) in Canada and didn’t have any network connections!
Absolutely, this is now going to be the longest 6 weeks of the year! With the “kids” out on summer vacation, I am going to have to get my old Madden Head Coach 09 game out again and play a quick season while I wait for the “BRONCOS ARE BACK” introduction from Ryan!
I don’t envy the group that has to cut down this team from 90 to 53 (though that sounds like it started with the dropping of Stevens). There are a number of guys who seem to have a lot of potential that are just not going to make it because of a numbers game. Though, I agree, there are a few players who are on the chopping block (Ray, McKenzie, Marshall, Heuerman, etc) who may not make it another year in order to allow the up and coming class continue to prove themselves and make this a better team.
