As you both discussed, even though he sometimes turns the puck over at key times, he’s pretty skilled defensively overall, including being very effective at carrying the puck out of the defensive zone and strong on the penalty kill. I also read somewhere that nearly 2/3 of his starts were in the defensive zone, he had good shot suppression numbers, and his most consistent partners (Zadorov and Nemeth) had better defensive numbers when they played with him.
