I’m very excited that the Eagles will be our AHL affiliate. That team seems to continually surprise its fan base. When they moved from the CHL to the ECHL after the 2010-2011 season, they were supposed to struggle with the transition. They haven’t missed the playoffs since. I think they’ll continue to do well with this transition.
It will be great to not share a team with another NHL team as well. Plus, as you stated, it will be fun to see Avs prospects playing just up the road!! Great things are in the future for both the Eagles and the Avs!!!

I grew up in C Springs when the Sky Sox were AAA for the Rockies. Watching guys like Neifi Perez come up through the system was great and when bigger stars on injury assignment were down it was an added bonus. In Ft Collins now and can’t wait to see some high level hockey up here. I’ve always had a blast at Eagles games since before they moved to the ECHL but it hasn’t always been the best hockey. Don’t get me wrong they have always iced competitive squads, maybe I was a little jaded from growing up while Colorado College was on a good run. With the atmosphere the Eagles have been able to build and the added depth of talent I’m definite looking at going to a bunch of games next year
