Mason Plumlee underwent successful surgery to repair a core muscle injury Thursday morning, the team announced.

The surgery was performed by Dr. William Meyers at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia. Plumlee will resume basketball-related activities this summer and is expected to be at full-strength when the Nuggets open training camp this fall, the team said.

Plumlee was diagnosed with what the team called a “core strain” in November and played with the injury for most of the 2017-18 season.

Plumlee averaged 7.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in his first full season in Denver. The 28-year-old appeared in 74 games (26 starts) for the Nuggets this year.

Plumlee was dealt to Denver prior to the 2017 trade deadline along with a 2018 second round pick for Jusuf Nurkic and a 2017 first round pick that Portland ultimately packaged with another selection to acquire big man Zach Collins.
