I thought Z looked slow and tired – some serious bad breaks against the AVS, but they are giving the Preds everything they can handle.. we just need a break or two to go the AVS way.

Bench Warsofsky and bring in some beef with Mark Alt. I think Varlamov would have made the difference today. If I was coaching, I’d give Hammond a chance. He looked good in his one regular season game, and has a track record as the Hamburglar. It can’t hurt, and if he’s hot, we might get back in this thing.

It appeared to me on the line change goal that Barrie was going to come off and Nemeth come on but just as Nemath was coming on Zadorov passed to Barrie who was forced to play the puck because of onrushing Preds so Nemeth had to jump back off and the turnover ensued. In spite of his mistakes I do not believe the Avs have another goalie available that can play as well as Bernier right now. With his team down a goal or two Nieto needs to be disciplined, take the punch and not retaliate. The Avs took too many unnecessary penalties.

Not watching a replay or looking at the fancy stats I thought Nemeth was horrible, outside of the smart save, what the hell did he do to warrant nearly 26 minutes of ice time. I thought Barberio was just about equally as bad. Bernier as I commented to my buddy mid game is far my likely to let in a softie than make a clutch save. How freaking aggravating to know it was well within their reach to even this series.

Look people. I’d be shocked if Hammond starts a game. It is Berniers series to carry unless he completely melts down Monday. If Bednar keeps the bottom three lines together as is though, then I have a fan criticism of a rookie playoff coach not adjusting. This is ALL house money so roll those dice buddy! Good thing is, a depleted club is getting valuable experience and competing.

Frustrated that Kerfoot didn’t hit Johansen on his breakaway goal. I get that big hits are obviously not Kerfoot’s game, but he was lined up for a hit and instead tried a goofy high speed poke check. Needed to find a way to use some body there, even if you just need to trip him like Subban did seconds before.

Is Bernier really healthy? When he had his 10 game win streak this season he often said he felt better than he had in years. So I have to wonder if he ever recovered from his concussion and or other ailments.
