x-Nathan MacKinnon (A+) – Made the playoffs, scored a beautiful third goal that set the Avs up to shut it down in the third and play clean, safe hockey.

The Avalanche as a team played an excellent game and I wouldn’t have given any legitimate grades lower than a ‘C’ tonight. This was a team that (finally) met the moment in a huge way.

I gotta believe that a nine game scoring draught when your team is fighting for their playoff lives eliminated him from the conversation.

When Girard scored the goal and I saw his emotional reaction I knew the Avs would win. His actions confirmed to me that the mindset and commitment to win, to work hard, elevate your game, go that extra mile, do whatever it takes – had returned! Not to mention Gabe embodying this commitment with a career game from him too.
