I admit I was pretty harsh on Mayfield and forgot he was a walk on, so there is a little more adversity there, but I still mostly feel the same. Anyway, if I was the Browns, I am telling the Pats to screw off since they wouldn’t trade Jimmy G to the Cleveland (Unless the offer is the Pats first 5 picks). Maybe NE can hope to #2 but I don’t think NYG drop that much in the draft.

In all seriousness, I’m all over someone other than a QB at 5. I really feel that the Broncos, barring injury, are closer than some people may think. Do you think there will be a significant improvement in coaching this year? There just seemed to be so many coaching mishaps last year that I hope VJ has learned something about clock management, etc. What do you think? Is he more confident? He just seemed a bit out of his element last year and maybe in over his head. I’m not a VJ basher, just calling it like I saw it. I’m all in on him this year, but hoping he’s learned something. Thoughts?

Hey guys love the pod, faithful listener and subscriber. That being said please no more Brandon Spanos I really struggled to make it through this one.

I love Mayfields attitude and the way he carries himself the broncos offense would benefit from that kind of cockiness they need it.

I do have faith in Keenum if he has the surrounding talent so I’m good with baker or Barkley.

Ryan you did outstanding holding the fort down on your own especially with the last 2 segments. Don’t be afraid to fly solo if you have to, but if zac is still out hope Andre can come on with his draft insight. I hope Zac feels better and gets back on the pod soon.

IMHO, iF they do go QB I’d say Mayfield over Rosen because I like his accuracy, mobility, and leadership. He brings intangibles that the team sorely needs. Now If they don’t plan to go QB I hope they trade up to try to get Barkley. But If they stay put at 5 and Barkley and Mayfield are gone, I say trade back get some assets and target Hernandez.

Side question for you. Jordan Taylor accounts for the majority of the WR production outside of guys named DT and Sanders. Is Sunshine’s lack of hype from the coaches a reflection that the coaches don’t believe he has what it takes to be a bigger part of the offense, or does he simply not have the talent and higher ceiling take on more in the near future?

I can’t work out why people have Allen and Darnold higher than Rosen or Mayfield. They’ve both got more concerns. Yes, may be rewarding but we know how that can work out.

I hope Rosen or Mayfield drop to us. It will be interesting to see if we do pick either up or if John has other idea’s.

The more I read or watch of Rosen/Mayfield, the more I like them.

I’m going with thumbs down on Mr. Spanos in this podcast. He’s reminiscent of an 80s radio DJ short of the overused sound effects–fake laughter, belching, record needle scratch, etc. He seems well intentioned but comes off like the 30+ year-old guy showing up uninvited at college frat parties. What I do like about Spanos is that he isn’t affraid to offer a contrary viewpoint to Ryan. If there is one knock on Zac, it is that he is too conciliatory.

Ryan, you do well handling the podcast solo or bring in Andre.
