Wow. This is incredible stuff. Otto looks like he’s throwing whiffle balls out there right now.

Great stuff Rich – I love the pitch-by-pitch video breakdown. It offers a unique barometer of a pitcher’s performance.

Some of these pitches are just unfair. Most of these pitches are just unfair.

This is the kind of analysis that makes the subscription worth it. Haven’t finished but halfway through I want to express my appreciation for this breakdown.

That strike three pitch to Spangenberg… especially watching it from behind the catcher. Wow. Just wow. Hope he keeps that up, but so far Otto looks waaay better than last year.

Awesome content, Rich. This is information worth paying for.

Thoughts: 8/10 of Otto’s first pitchers were sliders, and those first strike sliders were often the most hittable pitches in the at-bat. If I’m batting against Otto, I’m sitting first-pitch slider over the middle of the plate. If I get it, I’m hacking (and probably whiffing).

Someone will see this and tag him hard on one of these.

Idea for your next article: GIFs of every time Carlos Gonzalez swings and misses on the low and away slider from a left handed pitcher. 🙂
