Just a quick note to say how much I appreciate your quick turnaround after each game on your player grades. It’s my favorite feature and after each game, you have the grades ready for my 4-5 am wake-up call. Thanks guys.

Thanks. AJ and I both like doing them.

I actually thought Soderberg had a pretty strong game and deserved a better grade. Just like Landeskog lost an assist because Comeau didn’t convert, Soderberg’s backhand pass to Compher would have been an assist if the Vancouver goalie didn’t make an incredible save. The last couple of games especially I thought Soderberg has played hard, especially around the net, and created opportunities. His line is not a line that has a finisher, him included, so a lot of their hard work doesn’t translate to goals. Throw in the fact he was 7-12 on faceoffs as you mentioned I think that is better than a “C” in a winning effort.

That’s fair. I don’t know, I just would like to see a bit more fire from Carl, but I know he works hard.

Seimens! How many games is that in the NHL now, like 8? Looks like he’s an NHL defenseman right now. He sure hasn’t ever been given much of a chance in the past…

Yes, I appreciate the quick turnaround as well, even tho I’m reading it a little late. As usual, great insights and pointing out stuff us average folks don’t always notice.

So with Toninato being the occasional eater of minutes and taking up space on the ice, I wonder what things would be like if Kamanev hadn’t gone down with the broken arm…
