The Colorado Rockies have re-signed non-tendered left-handed pitchers Yohan Flande and Jason Gurka to minor league contracts according to Baseball America.

The Rockies also signed three others, right-handed pitcher Brock Huntzinger, catcher Cameron Garfield and outfielder Alex Castellanos. None of the five signings affect the 40-man roster.

Flande is the most notable of these signings since he has pitched 127.1 innings for the Rockies over the past two years. In his time with the Rockies he has a 3-9 record with a 4.95 ERA. He has provided good depth for the Rockies each of the last season working his way up from Double-A to the majors. One of his positives is his ability to induce groundballs, he does this at a rate of 59%.

Soon to be 28-years old reliever Jason Gurka appeared in nine games for the Rockies in 2015, he allowed eight runs in 7.2 innings pitched. The lefty was very good in the minors last season splitting his time between Double-A and Triple-A. He threw in 63 innings recording a very good 2.86 ERA and a 7.6 K/9 rate between the two levels.

Huntzinger most recently played in the Oakland organization at the Triple-A level. The former third-round pick by the Boston Red Sox is a converted starter who made 43 appearances last season for the Nashville Sounds. He threw in 56.1 innings allowing a 4.63 ERA while striking out 8.6 per nine innings. He will turn 27 soon.

Garfield a 24-year old right-handed catcher is a former second-round pick of the Brewers. Last year he split the season between High-A and playing in the independent Frontier League. In his 24 games with the Rockford Aviators, he slashed .308/.364/.396. He has solid defensive stats for a low minors catcher but he has had trouble advancing past the High-A level.

Castellanos is a 2008 10th round pick that has bounced around between five different professional organizations. The right-handed outfielder, third baseman and second baseman played eight games in the majors for the Dodgers in 2013. At 29, he has spent the better part of the last four years in Triple-A including playing for the Albuquerque Isotopes back when they were affiliated with the Dodgers. In 2015, he finished the season playing in Japan after he had a very good 79 games in the Pacific Coast Leauge playing for Las Vegas. With the Mets affiliate in 2015, he slashed .314/.381/.614 hitting 16 home runs and driving in 56 runs.
