Von Miller led the Broncos defense with 2 sacks of Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers in Denver’s 17-3 victory in San Diego on Sunday but he says it’s more about the guys playing behind him that deserve the credit.

“I really think it’s about the guys behind the starters,” Miller said after the game. “There’s a lot of talk about Chris (Harris Jr.) and (Aqib) Talib and T.J. (Ward) but David Bruton Jr. is playing out of his mind right now. Bradley Roby is coming out to his own too, Shaquil Barrett, Shane Ray, and Corey Nelson are all guys that have come in and made the defense what it is. I’m very proud of those guys.”

Shane Ray earned his third sack of the season in the final minute of play in San Diego when he bull-rushed the Chargers right tackle to get to Rivers.

Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak would certainly prefer to have all hands on deck but knows he has capable bodies to contribute. “Well, I feel good about our depth but we’re being pushed to the limit I can tell you that,” Kubiak said. “I thought we came off a really emotional, physical game last week and I thought it showed a little bit through the course of the week but we hung in there and found a way to win and that’s what a good team does.”

Some good news for the Broncos and their ailing defense is they held out linebacker DeMarcus Ware in Sunday’s win and is well on his way back which Von Miller has already warned opposing offense’s will be a force to be reckoned with down the stretch.

With a New England loss on Sunday Denver controls their own destiny for home field advantage in the AFC. As the team gets healthy their depth will continue to be that much more of a weapon for the Broncos.
