Going into the Sunday night game the Broncos are the 2nd winningest franchise in winning percentage since the AFL/NFL merger in 1970. The game is #703 for both teams in the regular season and the Green Bay Packers are one of the most amazing stories in my 29 years of tracking all teams. In ’92 Favre took over the 25th best team out of 28 in this stat and left in ’07 with GB sitting at #13. Since then Rodgers has gotten them inside the top 10 for the first time (thanks in part also to the Redskins & Raiders clowning around and not playing real football) and they may pass the Ravens for #8 by the end of the year. The only part I remember about this game was that I was driving home from Regis College after they cancelled all night classes due to the snow and was passing by Mile High when Louis Wright got the second fumble recovery for a TD. I barely made it home that night (something about a rear wheel drive ’76 Vega wagon trying to get through the unplowed streets of Surrey Ridge in foot deep snow) but was thankful that they didn’t completely fold and lose the game after such a great start!
