Watch: Weston Richburg blows up D-linemen at NFL level

Weston Richburg, you stalwart Ram, you.

Richburg, who played for the Colorado State Rams football team from 2010-2013 and started all 50 games, has moved up to the NFL. He’s a true Next Level Ram.

With the New York Giants, Richburg has enjoyed some ups and downs, with much more positive play in this, his second season.

As a rookie, Richburg struggled at times as a guard, eventually being benched in the Giants’ Week 12 game against the Dallas Cowboys, and he opened up about that rocky rookie year with nj.com this summer.

“I learned a lot of good things last year. I gained some confidence,” Richburg said. “Learning a different position at this level is humbling, but at the same time it can give you confidence because you did some good things against some good players. It helps you. I’m going to take them and bring them with me in my second year and it’s going to pay great dividends.”

Not only did Richburg learn from the longer days and harder practices against bigger, stronger men, he also took on a new position. This season, he’s excelling at his natural center spot, starting all seven games for the Giants, who are 4-3 and leading the NFC East.

In this first play, he pushes linebacker Rolando McClain backwards 10 yards and into his safety.

In this second play, Richburg helps wipe out the Cowboys’ defensive line by powering through defensive tackle Nick Hayden.
