Denver Broncos trade T Chris Clark to Houston Texans for Draft pick

It’s that time of year, when rosters get shaken up as the season is about to get underway.

On Monday morning, the Denver Broncos announced a round of cuts which included 11 players — 10 were either waived or released while Jeff Heuerman was placed on the IR — which brought the team’s roster size down to 79. They still have to make four more cuts by Tuesday at 2 p.m. MDT.

Quickly following on the heels of those cuts is the trade of tackle Chris Clark to the Houston Texans for a 2016 NFL Draft pick.

Clark started 21 games for the Broncos the last two seasons, including 14 games in 2013 following Ryan Clady’s injury. Clark was so-so in replacement of Clady, notably allowing pressure from the left side of the line to get to Peyton Manning during Super Bowl XLVIII.

The 2016 NFL Draft pick the Broncos will receive is not yet specified and everything’s contingent on Clark passing his physical.
