That’s six goals for Toronto, zero for Colorado. The loss is Colorado’s eight straight home loss, fifth straight overall, and 12th in their last 14 games. It’s also the seventh time they’ve been shutout this season. They are dead last in the NHL by a country mile.

THREE STARS

1. Frederik Andersen
2. Nazem Kadri
3. James van Riemsdyk

PLAY OF THE GAME

Nazem Kadri’s tip-in goal was excellent. It was great hand-eye coordination and there was nothing Semyon Varlamov could do on that one.

TURNING POINT

Auston Matthews made it 1-0 and there was no turning back for Toronto. They just kept plugging away and beating Semyon Varlamov until the mercy pulling by Jared Bednar ended the onslaught.

WHAT’S NEXT

Colorado’s turnaround is immediate as they are off to Chicago to take on the Blackhawks tomorrow night.
