Mike Miller says he's open to playing out his contract with Nuggets

Denver Nuggets veteran guard Mike Miller appeared on The Ringer NBA Show with Chris Vernon and reflected on his 17-year career, the state of the Nuggets, and their outlook this year.

Miller also addressed if this season would be his last.

“I don’t think so, I don’t know yet,” Miller said. “I have one more [year on my contract], I still love it, I still enjoy being in there, I still love being in the locker room. Travel’s getting tough, but to me, it’s a blessing. I get to wake up every day and play basketball.”

This past offseason, Miller signed a 2-year, partially guaranteed $7 million contract with the Nuggets and seems open to playing out the remaining year of his deal. The $3.5 million owed to Miller in 2017-18 becomes guaranteed on July 12.

The 36-year-old has only logged four minutes of action this season but is regarded as one of the better locker-room guys throughout the league, and was instrumental in turning around the culture in Denver last year. He’s also a valued veteran to have in Denver with three rookies and a roster stocked full of young talent.
