The Denver Nuggets announced Saturday that they have waived D.J. Kennedy, JaKarr Sampson and Axel Toupane.

After the roster moves, the Nuggets roster currently stands at 17 players.

Toupane, 24, spent part of last year with Denver after the Nuggets signed him out of the D-League for the last 21 games of the 2015-16 season. The 6-foot-7 wing averaged 3.6 points in 14.5 minutes per games last year. Toupane only saw action in one of Denver’s preseason games.

Sampson, 23, spent 26 games with the Nuggets last year after starting the season in Philadelphia. He averaged 5.2 points in 18.0 minutes per game in 2015-16. Like Toupane, Sampson only appeared in one preseason game this year with Denver.

Kennedy, 26, played overseas for the past few years before arriving in Denver this summer. He only appeared in one preseason game, scoring four points, to go with two rebounds and three assists in 12 minutes.

The transactions mean Denver’s roster officially stands at 17 players. Nate WoltersRobbie Hummel and Jarnell Stokes still remain in competition for the 15th roster spot.
