The Denver Nuggets’ Summer League roster is starting to take shape.

On the same day that the Spanish Basketball Federation announced that No. 15 overall pick Juan Hernangomez would bypass the Olympics in favor of playing with the Nuggets in Las Vegas, and the day after former CU Buff’s big man Josh Scott signed on to play with Denver this summer as well, the Nuggets got another local commitment.

Former Wyoming Cowboys’ star and Parker, Colorado native Josh Adams is reportedly the latest addition to the Nuggets’ Summer League squad that’s sure to have some local flavor,

Adams, a four-year player, and 1,800-point scorer at Wyoming averaged 24.2 points 5.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists for the Cowboys last season and shot 44.2 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from three.

The Nuggets brought in Adams for a pre-draft workout on June 9 and apparently came away impressed.

I’m just very thankful for the opportunity to come here,” Adams said after his workout in Denver. “And if it works out, it works out. I know He’s got a plan for me so I just try and stick to it.”

Adams was regarded as one of the better undrafted prospects after the draft Thursday.

Colorado State guards Antwan Scott and Joe De Ciman and Colorado-Mesa big man Ryan Stephan, three more local kids who worked out for the Nuggets leading up to to the draft, are candidates to get Summer League invites in the coming days as well.
