Davis Webb, the Texas Tech graduate transfer quarterback who originally committed to spend his final year of eligibility in Boulder with Mike MacIntyre, has reportedly chosen to spend next season in Berkeley for Sonny Dykes and the Cal Bears.
Have been able to confirm former Texas Tech QB Davis Webb will not be transferring to #CUBuffs like he originally planned. He is Cal bound.

Munsterteiger, of Rivals.com/Buffstampede.com, was the first to report the news this afternoon.
Webb committed to Colorado on January 27, following Darrin Chiaverini from Lubbock to Boulder and becoming the presumed starter for a Buffs football team in search of a starting signal caller. With Sefo Liufau’s health in question after suffering from a Lisfranc injury suffered last season and redshirt-freshman Steven Montez still green, MacIntyre needed a quarterback ready to take the Buffs back to bowl eligiblity–a pivotal step for MacIntyre’s job security moving forward.
Over the past month, Webb had taken visits to Cal and Auburn (reportedly) and made it known that he wasn’t done deciding where he would play next season despite keeping his Twitter bio updated with, “Committed to Colorado.”
For those wondering, Webb signed a Fiancial Aid Agreement with Colorado as opposed to a Letter of Intent, the latter of which would have prevented those visits and the flirtatious nature of his recruiting process with other schools.
Webb’s former coach had this to say about the situation on Twitter:
College Football is about young people. Let’s not forget that as coaches and fans! pic.twitter.com/AI8dJSKGOJ
