Reports surfaced on Monday afternoon that the Denver Broncos have contacted the Philadelphia Eagles about a trade for their disgruntled starting quarterback Sam Bradford. This comes after Adam Schefter reported earlier today that the former Heisman winner had requested a trade from Philadelphia.
For now, reports indicate that the asking price is too high. Presumably, the Eagles are trying to recoup as many picks as possible after the mega trade to move up to the second overall pick in the upcoming 2016 Draft.
Elway has already played hardball with the 49ers in trade talks for Colin Kaepernick and was unwilling to give up one of his four top 100 draft picks. It’s likely that he’s having the same issue in the negations for Bradford. The Bradford swap would make more financial sense, for at least the 2016 season, while his fit in the Broncos offense and overall NFL track record aren’t as clear.
The quarterback trade saga in Denver is likely to continue through this Thursday (the beginning of the NFL Draft) and could go for longer. Stay tuned for all the latest Broncos trade rumors and draft news at BSNDenver.com.
