The stretch-four from Los Angeles Cathedral High had previously committed to ASU but de-committed when Bobby Hurley took over. He is rated a four-star by Rivals, a three-star by 24/7 Sports and a two star by ESPN.
In an article written by AZ Central in 2015 his coach at Cathedral, William Middlebrooks said:
He shoots it really well, that’s the strength of his game. He’s a native of Brazil, but he’s been here since his freshman year, so he’s fully acclimated to the American game.
Originally from Joinville, Brazil, Siewert has played for Brazil internationally. This past year in high school according to MaxPreps he played 29 games averaging 22.6 points a game, 1.9 assists, 8.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals.
The Buffs have one more scholarship left for next season, and head coach Tad Boyle has been diligently searching the transfer market in hopes of filling it. Siewert, and Dallas Walton will have big shoes to fill with the graduation of Josh Scott.
