Behind a masterful Senior night performance from Julien Lewis, Fresno State easily handled the visiting Rams Wednesday night, bringing themselves one win closer to the No. 2 seed in next week’s conference tournament. Simply put, the Bulldogs could not be contained by Larry Eustacy’s Rams, shooting just under 54 percent from the field, in the 87-73 Fresno State victory.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs, seniors Julien Lewis and Marvelle Harris put on a show for the hometown fans. Lewis dropped a career high 30 points, shooting nearly 70 percent from the floor.

Not be outdone by his teammate, Harris put up 24 points of his own, marking the eighth-straight game he scored at least 20 points.

Down 20 points at halftime, Colorado State was never really in this ballgame. The Rams actually had a decent night from the floor, hitting 41.9 percent of their field goal attempts, and shooting 43.5 percent from three-point range but they were out-done by the Bulldogs’ 53.3 and 40.0 percent, respectively.

Where the Rams really struggled was the turnover battle. CSU committed 14 turnovers, nine of which came in the first half. CSU battled back in the second half, but was never able to overcome the first-half deficit.

Antwan Scott and Joe DeCiman led the way for the Rams, scoring 15 points each. Tiel Daniels also had an impressive night, going 5-5 from the field, and finishing the night with 11 points and 8 rebounds.

The Rams will have regroup quickly, as they host Air Force this Saturday in the last regular season of the year. Tipoff will be at 2 p.m., and will be televised on Root Sports.
