The Denver Broncos are once again champions of the world. The streets and skies of Denver glow orange this day. And while it might be a bit of a stretch to say they “beat the odds” it’s interesting to look back today at a team that Vegas didn’t like as much as the Philadelphia Eagles or the Indianapolis Colts to win the big game.
Indeed, before the season, the Broncos ranked sixth most likely (9/1 odds) to accomplish what they did yesterday, behind the aforementioned teams plus the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers. Clearly, Vegas makes some mistakes. We’re looking at you, Philly.
Orange sunsets always give way to purple diamond night skies and soon it will be the Colorado Rockies faced with overcoming odds. Much, much, bigger odds.
The Rox are tied for second-to-last in all of baseball, ahead of only the Philadelphia Phillies, in the most recent ranking of World Series favorites. At a whopping 100/1 odds, a World Series appearance is an incredible unlikely eventuality for the boys of Blake Street.
But if they do defy the odds, maybe Colorado will all finally get what wall all want to really see: Bruno Mars and Beyonce at Coors Field.
