Let me first say, I really like Nuggets 1st unit, Mudiay, Harris, Gallo, Faried, Jokic, they already have good chemistry and will only get better but problem is poor roster…
Depending on Nuggets goal for next season, I find this deals potentially interesting:
1. Faried for some young or underrated all-round PF plus lottery picks (T-Wolves Nemanja Bjelica + 2nd round pick, Good player unsuited to Minnesota’s style but would play around 20 PER in teams with good team organization).
I really like Faried, but if you intend to trade him, now or at end of season is right time to do so, he is at peak of value, but due to his style of play he will be more prone to injuries in future
2. Jokic to Spurs for Marjanovic C (PER 31)+ Diaw C, PF (PER 15), + McCallum PG and/or Anderson
( Pops love those guys but would trade them to get his hands on another T Duncan potential type player )
Way I see it those could be win-win

Chatted with Faried after the game last night, he was in great spirits – talked very well about his teammates. I’ve agreed with trading him, but it’s tougher for me than I thought.

Trading Jokic? I just can’t get anywhere near on board with that! ha

LOL. I wouldn’t actually trade Jokic either, but thats interesting idea, Pops would give anyone but Kawhi for him 😀

P.S. Nuggets should get Quincy Miller back from Europe, he in good form and Denver needs to boost up roster

Who available for Faried? That’s like saying we need to trade bloggers, Nate! How would you feel? These types of innuendos is exactly what causes lapses in play. Why would a good player play hard for a team who is looking to unload him. Shaw philosophy. We are past that. We want continuity and synergy in a team, not non-existent trade rumors just to get views. Tell me who can replace him that is available, and I’ll listen.

I think we’re in a good spot. I’d trade DA, I don’t know why Nate said he’s 26. My problem with him is his foul rate mainly, but also his not so stellar rebounding and not showing any real explosiveness athletically. He also is scoring at a Papanikolauean rate of 12.2 points per 36 minutes. Foye is actually the one vet I wouldn’t mind holding onto next year, but I think that’d be a strictly 15th man/vet minimum spot, sort of Mike Miller’s role now. I like Foye, he seems like a good glue guy for us and actually still has some athleticism left. Nelson has been so bad it hurts the team to play him over a draft pick next year. He should probably be gone, but because of his contract I expect he’ll get the MM role next year instead of Foye.
I think you guys trades were pretty bad for us, honestly. I’d keep Gallo until he retires, there’s a reason why teams want him, and it’s because the dude’s good. He’s pretty clearly one of the toughest guys to guard in the NBA. With his BBIQ, Shooting, Height, and skillset, I don’t see any reason why his game will fall off a cliff rapidly anytime soon. Not only that, but it’s going to create some serious upheaval with a seemingly good team chemistry. So, why are you trading him for role players from the Celtics when he’s a piece to build a winning culture around? Unless or until we get a competent athletic shot blocker I’m keeping Faried too. Although, I do think he should be coming in off the bench so we can start Nurk and Jokic together. Mostly, other than at the fringes of the roster, I think the right move is waiting to trade until draft night at least, and perhaps the best move is not trading at all. just continue to draft and develop talent, then add pieces you only have to pay money to get in free agency.

Yeah, my bad on Arthur. He’s 27 and will be 28 in March. I like Arthur as a glue guy — defensive quarterback who teammates really respect, I mean REALLY respect. He’s important, IMO. Same as you stated with Gallo. I’m in favor of keeping Gallo to build around. To hell with “assets,” team will have picks this summer on their own.

I disagree on Foye, I’d try to deal him — that might be the only move I’d make. I’d look at Faried deals though. Although, I’m coming around on him this season in a big way.

That’s the thing, we don’t really know what is out there — that’s Connelly’s job to find out. It’d be interesting to see what teams were willing to trade for Faried, but I’m starting to really come around on him. He growing and maturing, I believe.

I think Faried is a special person. He has special qualities, in character, determination and focus, leadership. Tough but nice. You always want him on your team. Much more than stats. He just overworks himself and loses focus. Early on he was indomitable. Playing that hard takes it’s toll. He gauging himself which is good. Love the way Gallo’s new body has helped him. Not as worried about an injury. Give Jokic as few years of body work. If he grows like Gallo, good! Nurk has lost my confidence. He needs attention.
