Aqib Talib: "That's something I never did with any other team, it really brings a group together"

“There would be 30-40 guys at a house chilling. That’s something I never really did with any other team. It really brings a group together.”

That is what Aqib Talib said about forming chemistry with his teammates that has proven to be unparalleled to any other he’s played on in his 9 year NFL career.

“Around OTA’s a lot of guys would get out of town on Thursdays and we would make it our little thing,” Talib said at the Broncos media availability Tuesday. “We’d all go find a house and chill before everybody got out of town. It made you feel good as a group and make everyone feel a little more comfortable with each other.”

Talib told BSN Denver’s Ryan Koenigsberg that Von Miller invited everybody over to his house during OTA’s and that helped these Broncos form a bond that would last them an entire season.

“If all of us could be mic’d up for a game and you could hear our chemistry, hear our laughing, joking and then when we get serious,” he explained. “We address each other in certain ways. I think it all comes from all of us feeling comfortable with each other and that comes from us hanging out off of the field. ”

A lot of teams run into the trap of having cliques between the different units, offense or defense, but Broncos running back C.J. Anderson said it’s not like that in Denver.

“No not at all man, it’s just hanging with your brothers,” Anderson said. “I love this team. There’s not a team I’ve been around where everybody is together. Doesn’t matter what we’re doing, what music is put on, we’re all having fun with each other. You can’t get that everywhere.”

Two years ago during Super Bowl Media day in New Jersey, we saw a different type of team that was restrictive and business oriented that forgot to have any fun during the experience. Now this Broncos team has chemistry on their side and that could prove to be a powerful weapon come Super Bowl Sunday.
