Denver Nuggets shooting guard Sean Kilpatrick is on his second 10-day contract with the team. I caught up with him the day after he re-signed with the Nuggets and have that short interview with Kilpatrick in the podcast below.
Kilpatrick has appeared in six of the nine games he has been with the team, earning over 10 minutes of playing time in four of those six contests. In addition to currently playing with the Denver Nuggets, Kilpatrick will play in the NBA D-League All Star game that takes place on Feb. 13th in Toronto at the Ricoh Coliseum at 12:00 p.m. MST. The game can be seen on NBA TV.
Coming to the Nuggets towards the beginning of the team’s eight game home stand was perfect timing — Kilpatrick got to participate in multiple practices and get in a groove, quickly, with the team. On the season he’s averaging 9.3 minutes per game, 3.6 points on 38.9 percent shooting (26.7 percent from three, 87.5 percent at the foul line).
As we saw with Gary Harris last season, it can be difficult to put up eye-popping stats with a sporadic role on the team. But Kilpatrick has shown flashes of what he can do both shooting the ball and driving to the rim. It would be very nice to see the 26 year-old guard stick with the team for the rest of the season, and will find out soon if he will — as team’s can only sign players to a maximum of two 10-day contracts.
