DENVER — It didn’t take long for Von Miller to make his way into the backfield, eh?
“Nah, man,” the face of the Denver Broncos said with a big smile and some sort of shimmy.
Nine plays was all it took for Miller to blow by Green Bay Packers tackle Jason Spriggs with a fantastic spin move and notch his first sack of the preseason. After that, Miller did was he does (second) best, he danced.
“That’s the sexy T-Rex,” he said of his sack celebration. “Everybody can do that at home. I know there are some sack dances I’ve done that everybody can’t really do. It was planned, it was planned. I did something for Jimmy Kimmel, y’all will see it. That’s a sack dance that everybody can do, so I’m gonna get the sexy T-Rex going.”

Miller said early and often that he was going to take advantage of the NFL’s new, more relaxed policy on played celebrations—although he may want to change the name of the “sexy T-Rex” considering the rule still prohibits sexually provocative celebrations—so it’s no surprise that the Super Bowl 50 MVP has big plans for 2017.
“I’ve got a lot of sack dances and celebrations planned,” he explained. “I’ve got to get my guys in with it, though. It’s always better when you can celebrate how soccer players celebrate where everybody takes off running. It’s great to get some chemistry with that, too. You saw me and [S] Will [Parks] choreograph some stuff together. We just have to get a few more guys, it’ll be great.”
Earlier this offseason, the NFL’s best pass rusher said that 30 sacks is “doable” for the league’s elite pass rushers, so does that mean he’s got 30 dances planned?
“That’s the goal – 30 sacks, maybe 32,” he responded. “I don’t really set a goal on sacks. I just want to go out there and play great. If do that, then I’ll be okay with everything but 30 sacks would be nice. That’s the record plus seven.”
32 sacks—two a game—would be one helluva season, but hey, based on No. 58’s 2016 average of 58 plays per game, he was on pace for about six sacks on Saturday.
