DENVER – Colorado Rockies rookie left-hander Kyle Freeland left Friday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies in the first inning after just 11 pitches. Freeland allowed a leadoff single then struck out one batter before being taken out halfway through his third batter faced.

Freeland’s third offer to Aaron Altherr was an 85 mph slider. It looked as though he grabbed at his left leg after the pitch. Jonathan Lucroy then Bud Black and the trainers met Freeland on the mound after he danced around for a second. Although it is unclear if the injury is indeed to his leg.

He was taken out of the game for Chris Rusin after some consideration from the Rockies.

Freeland, a native of Denver, came into the game with a 11-7 and a 3.71 ERA in 121.1 innings pitched.

Of his 11 pitches 10 were strikes, as for the injury, we’ll let you know more when we know know more.
