The Denver Nuggets rounded out the rest of their draft selections by taking one unknown forward from Slovenia, Vlatko Cancar, as well as point guard Monte Morris out of Iowa State.

Cancar is a 20-year-old, six-foot-eight, and 210 pound forward from Slovenia who played with Mega Bemax in Serbia, who projects as a jack-of-all-trades wing player.

He has the size to play power forward but is better suited to play at small forward. This pick is a curious one but with Denver’s proficiency drafting players from Eastern Europe, and new General Manager Arturas Karnisovas at the helm, it makes sense to draft a player who can be stashed overseas for the foreseeable future.

Cancar averaged 5.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 0.3 assists in 18.4 minutes per game while shooting 61.9 percent from two-point and just 27.3 percent from three-point.

Morris, out of Iowa State, is a classic pass-first point guard. He averaged 16.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 35.5 minutes per game while shooting 50.2 percent from two-point and 37.8 percent from three.

Morris led college basketball in assist to turnover ratio as well. He is still just 22 years old, stands six-foot-two, and weighs 175 pounds.
