Parker

Andrew Parker, who had been the Colorado Avalanche’s team physician since the team’s inception in 1995, is no longer with the organization.

Parker, along with other team medical staff, did not have his contract renewed. The Avs and Denver Nuggets will exclusively use staff from a partnership with UCHealth, BSNDenver has learned. Last year, Kroenke Sports began a partnership with UCHealth, but retained Parker and other staff such as dental and optical. The expanded partnership means Parker and others were relieved of duties. According to the website of Orthopedics Associates, Parker is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He was a frequent sight around Avs games, home and road, for 22 years. It is unclear if the Avs will name one new head team physician from UCHealth, or use multiple people.
