Also here’s a question: Why does it have to be conspiracy “theory” if calls are a little slanted one way or another? Couldn’t good ol’ fashion favoritism play a role? Refs, linesman, the DOPS, and whoever is making the calls in the “situation room” in Toronto are people too (probably). Mightn’t they just have certain teams or players that they like more than others?

But in reality we’re dealing with millions of dollars here. This isn’t an altruistic system or league we’re talking about. In what way can it be called “theory” to say that a group of people working together behind closed doors to wrangle greater PROFIT for themselves is “theory”? Isn’t that called a board meeting? Does anybody really THEORIZE that this multi-billion dollar operation (the NHL) doesn’t play money/power politics or have cliches? Aside from flying in the face of all reason and sanity, THAT “theory” is utterly disproved by the wild antics of the DOPS alone.
