It was good to see Chubb have a big game.

Did anyone else see Bolles penalty and go “That’s the hold they’re going to call? That one wasn’t even bad.” ?

Nice piece, Andre! Hopefully this was the game that gets Bradley Chubb going the rest of the year. I’m curious what you think of the LB rotation/playing time? Getting gashed for 200+ yards in back to back weeks is definitely as bad of a look as possible on the DL and especially LB’s. You think they’ll be switching up the playing time or ceding more reps to guys like Jewell, Alexander Johnson, or even Sua Cravens now that he’s about back from injury? I personally like both Davis & Marshall but I think something needs to change and guys like Josey Jewell may not have a super high upside but seem to flow well to the ball. I’d be curious to see more of Johnson as well.

Just thought of a quick 2nd question…Do you feel Bolles is starting to get in danger of being benched? Seems to concede a sack, holding call, or both in pretty much every game.

As far as Bolles goes, your assessment is absolutely correct.
Per our stats (https://www.bsndenver.com/denver-broncos-roster-profiles/player-profile-Garett-Bolles/) the only game in which the LT hasn’t been flagged for holding or allowed a sack was Week 1.
He’s allowed three sacks this year (two of which resulted in the ball being stripped) and been flagged for six holding penalties. He’s allowed 22 sack yards and backed up the offense for 60 yards on his holds, that’s 82 negative yards in six weeks. Not good.
If Veldheer was healthy, it’s possible they would’ve benched him already.

Wowza….not great. That entire 2017 draft class is shaping up to be possibly the worst in Broncos history IMO. Outside of Jake Butt & Chad Kelly (which neither has produced enough so far to save the class as a whole) the entire class is either gone, practice squad, or backup.

I think switching up the LB rotation would make good sense. Guys are just slow to read and react right now. Johnson would be fun to see against the run and they miss Cravens desperately.
I think Davis has been good in coverage, at least per his usual standards, but has looked a bit slow against the run, Marshall’s struggled. Something’s gotta change.

What would y’all grade Jewel? Don’t know exactly how much he contributed but just curious.

Jewell appeared in 27% of the defensive snaps and had a limited impact, which is why he didn’t get a grade.
From my notes:
– Made a nice tackle against the run holding Gurley to a 4 yard gain.
– Was targeted on a pass underneath allowing a 12 yard gain.
I’d give him a C maybe C- (everyone starts with a C and we work our way from there). His DPR was a 38.7 which is barely passable due to limited tackles, snaps played etc
