Great game by the Avs! Hope Grub and Makar are ok. This injury bug is really getting old. So with Z starting to do really well with this shut down the other teams stars role, do you really want to give him up for Taylor Hall or let him go in the expansion draft? He is what 24? I don’t want to see him go. If he get really good at the shut down role, you gotta think twice about letting him go.

Honestly you may not have all that much of a choice in the expansion. One way or another Colorado is losing a good player wether it be Z, JT, Donk, or Graves.

At least there is another whole season after this one before it happens. And yes, we will lose a good player.

Sux Makar injured but now AJ gets to see Timmins come up (assuming EJ still out). Prefer it not to happen this way but still will be interesting.

I’d be surprised if Cale Makar isn’t out for a month or two. I’m guessing it’s a separated shoulder or a broken collarbone. What a bummer. That was about the only thing standing between him and the Calder trophy.

Big Z has earned the opportunity to sign a respectful long term deal with the Avs.

Francouz just might have the game and mentality to be a great no. 1. He’s calm and technically sound. Rebound control must improve, but I like his game a lot!

We sure it’s not Makar’s knee? Looked like knee-knee contact and he struggled to put weight on it his first couple strides.

After rewatching it I would say definitely not the knee.

Big Z becoming the next Adam Foote?

As for Taylor Hall, I remember, way back in the mists of ancient history, when The legendary Paul Karya AND Teemu Selanne joined the Avs, who had the best chance of winning another Cup, and we were all ecstatic!… With firepower like Forsberg and Sakic and Karya and Selanne another Lord Stanley seemed inevitable…

But that season fizzled out to being a total dud – major let down.

I’m guessing that Sakic, having lived through that, knows that having great chemistry and great pros with great yet humble team spirit attitudes (unlike some in our recent history) can be more important than giving away so much of what we have for the sake of massive star power.
