You guys talked about a waste of three hours — I didn’t watch the game! In fact, I didn’t even think to check the score until looking through Instagram, more than 4 hours after it ended. This has never happened since I started following the Broncos in 2010.

I love this team, but it’s become unbearable at this point. I’m so used to success that I’m starting to feel indifferent about games.

Here’s to hoping we don’t suck for much longer before I develop apathy for the team.

Sincerely, sad Bronco from Missouri 🙁

Hey boys. Game 11 was the same as The Raider’s Game 1 for me. The Broncs were never in danger of winning either game. After the Super Chargers, it will be time for the 3rd. quarter grade to be added to the 1st. quarter F and the second quarter C and the 1/2 season ave. D grade. 2 daze of Xmas music is 1 day too much, I’m with you Ryan. I’ll have to try the Xmas ale now, I saw it in KS’s on Friday. Drew and/or Brett must start all of these last 5 weeks, period! If Elway allows Vic to start Brandon again, I can’t watch them anymore. I don’t know if that means never watching them ever again? 🙁 We started 2019 @ 11-22 in the past 2 years, the Broncs are now 14-30. They are losing @ a 68.2% rate since Kubes was replaced by V.J. & Vic. Yes guys, I did say Chris had lost a step on the Hill T.D. I also said Chubb had gave up on a play where he lost outside contain. You kids disagreed on both. I still love you three and DNVR & Breck Brews. Go Zoomies @ Mines if they make a bowl.

You gents should have just gone home after the game. No post game reaction needed. This is a soup gone awry. No amount or combination of seasoning seems to fix it. Win now, John? This is shameful. Our lead Wr had 1 catch for 27 yds. We put 3 pts on the board. Three! We have one bright spot – AJ Johnson is playing out of his mind. The rest of the team is playing at 75% of capacity. I am sick. That’s all.

I’m going to start writing in on the comment section to help get the word out for someone, anyone, who will be at the games to start the “We want Lock” chants. I will comment every day (sorry boys) as a reminder until it is announced that Drew Lock is the starter. I would do it myself but since I am out of state, there is nothing I can do.

I agree. If Lock isn’t named the starter this week and the offense continues to play this offensively, the “We want Lock” chants should be so deafening the broadcasters won’t be able to avoid bringing it up. I’d love to hear it, but I won’t – because until Lock is named the starter I’m not watching another down by this team. In case the Broncos have forgotten, they are in the entertainment business, and entertaining is the last thing that comes to mind when I watch football this mind-numbingly bad…
And CHJ’s “hometown discount” is going to get bigger every game if he keeps playing like he has the last few games.

If it took today’s game for Fangio to realize Lock should have been in there this whole time that Flacco was gone we need to check the C02 levels in his house. And probably we need to boot his ass. Ya’ll thought VJ was bad. We are about to make adam rank look like a genius.

This is ugly. I thought it couldn’t get worse than the Kansas City game yet it has. It can always get worse.

If we don’t win another game this season, we will have the same record as Rank predicted for the 49er’s. Sorry, but Rank=genius is simply not an obtainable goal.

Couple things!

First: i tried gettin it on 3 pods before this but i kept missin the cut off lol..

GET US A PUNTER! Draft one, sigm 5 UDFA punters and trade for one! Get a guy who can actually punt. Field position is important.

Second! Get Lock in the damn game. If Fangio cant make this decision, then i will have lost faith in him. If he cant because of Elway, Fangio needs to tell John to shut up, sit down and get the @*$! Out of the way, hes caused enough damage.

Third.. For Mr B.

Fourth. Zac, thank you! I wont go into deal, dont want to be the shameless plug guy, but just cant thank you enough man! It means the world to us!

Love yall!

My dad and I have an imaginary award we give to the worst player in Denver sports from week to week appropriately titled The Desi’s. (Named for everyone’s favorite $70 million mistake Ian Desmond) Special consideration is given to players who are being paid huge contracts or are blocking younger better players while also being terrible. Notable winners of this award are: Ian Desmond, Daniel Murphy, Garrett Bolles, Bryan Shaw, Vance Joseph, Torey Craig, and Ian Cole.

This week I am proud to announce the winner (loser?) is Brandon Allen. It’s not his fault, he was never suppose to be The Guy and has shown hes clearly not. But theres only so many red zone interceptions I can stomach before I’ve seen enough. He takes 15 yard sacks every time there’s any sort of pressure and had a worse passing percentage than Tim Tebow. It is time to play Drew Lock and make a plan for the draft. Anything else is a complete failure by the front office.

Current apathy level: Staring into the void and hearing it whisper back.

Wow didn’t see that coming. I know we suck letting Buffalo steamroll is in the ground for 250 when we know all they want to do is run and all their QB even wants to do is run!?! Very concerning. Not sure if it was coaching or players or a combo of both but that was almost as pathetic as our offense. A couple more comments/questions :

1. Can someone tell me why we didn’t make a push for Tannehill in a trade instead of Flacco? Not saying he is the answer long term but he sure seems like a better system fit than Flacco ever was. Guy is balling out in Tenn with 4-1 record since replacing Marriota. We are 6-5 at worst with Tannehill.

2. Please Broncos finally stop trotting Brandon Allen our as our starting QB. He deserved a chance and got it but now it’s over. Even before watching him throw flutter balls in that wind yesterday you could see he didn’t have the arm to make necessary NFL throws. His completions have usually been to wide open guys (except for Sutton bailing him out with sick catch vs, Browns). Very few tight window throws and has nothing on his deep outs. Yeah the line was trash yesterday but there were plays out there to be made that a QB with some arm talent would have made. I know a guy.

Let’s just live in a hypothetical world for a minute where tua doesnt want to see his draft stock drop because of his injury and decides one more year of college (like herbert). How would that shake the draft board for everyone, including the broncos, if drew isn’t the guy?
Also, I’m convinced that drew will play next weekend because it’s the logical thing to do. But if its Allen, then they really are going for a top 3-5 pick. If that happens, what move would you make in the draft? Let’s say chase young falls in the draft like chubb did.

Best way for a bad offense to shift some blame to defense: 3-and-outs. Worked in the Jags game, worked in the Vikings game, and worked yesterday. Largely for the same reason the hurry-up hurts a defense (but without making substitutions harder). When defenses have no time to recover and catch their breath, they struggle more than offenses at a higher tempo. Which leads me to my question.
Does the wordy nomenclature of offensive play calling in the current scheme hinder the prospects of running a hurry-up and make it harder for teams like the Broncos to grind down defenses? Also, how does it affect audibles? I’m used to the best quarterbacks being the ones who, regardless of arm talent and overall athleticism, walk to the line, change the play if necessary, and put the ball exactly where it needs to be based on the defense. Or is that just not a thing anymore in the era of dual-threat quarterbacks? I know Brady is “in decline“ and all but he and Brees are hanging in there this season so far. What, 19-3 combined record?

Boys apologize for the long comment in advance. Went to the game yesterday and had a great time, somehow was seated near a ton of Denver fans and I think I was the only one rooting for the bills to win. I was questioned on my fandom and explained to them how this loss was better for the team long term, I told them I want to see Drew Lock play this year and wanted a high draft pick, some of these people didn’t even know who Drew Lock was, so that right there showed me where they were at. The offense didn’t look good but I had imbibed quite a bit of 24 oz cans, and I’ll tell u one thing that really really stood out to me, Colby Wadman is the worst punter in the NFL, and quite possibly the worst punter the league has ever seen. Really wish we had the Syracuse boy still. Here’s to hoping Drew starts this week.
Cheers Broncos country.

Hey guys,

Well another Monday of hope, losing is the only enjoyable part of this season. Losing is the only reason for hope because it’s the only way to beat Elway into submission. Do not let Elway make Vic the scape goat here. I guarantee Elway is making the decision to sit Lock. Vic does not have a choice in that area. I hold my stance that Lock will never play a snap for the Broncos. Elway is incapable of managing Lock he cannot help but blow this up.

Let us hope they lose every game the rest of the year unless Lock plays.

Have a great Monday!

Alright so I’m going to try to stick with my “positive only” comments, which is why I’ve been absent for a while. Let’s look ahead to the off-season. Vic is going to have the chance to transform this team, especially the defense, into his vision. You can’t expect a guy to turn around a terrible team in one year. This team was pretty much the same one Vance ended with and it’s like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. I think once Vic gets a few more of his type of guys and the current ones get more used to his system you’re really going to see this team shine in a couple years, hopefully sooner.

Is Locksgiving on the horizon this week? I can only hope. But with it being that time of year what are your favorite Locksgiving dishes? Maybe the turkey? Stuffing? Green bean casserole? Mac n cheese? Or my personal favorite, the pecan pie! Either way no fish will bring me greater joy than seeing Drew Lock step out there on Sunday! Happy thanksgiving to all in the DNVR fam!

Hello all!

As we enter the final week of Movember, I wanted to once again raise some awareness for men’s mental health. All month I have been rocking a mustache and raising money and awareness for men’s mental health. I am just $72 short of my goal of $600. I have seen how this community can react to a call to action by how many times we’ve won subscriber contests (subscribe using code ZAC/MASE/RK and vote for DNVR in the podcast awards) and now I am hoping to get a little help as well. If you are able, any donation helps as I am so so close to hitting my goal. The link to donate is mobro.co/njyhalo. Thank you all so much and please for the love of God let’s see Lock next week.

Still love my team. But man we’re 3-8 why are we talking trash?!

Conor McGovern should be embarrassed in himself, he got what he deserved after the game. And I’m honestly getting tired of Chris Harris, I at one point loved him and almost bought his jersey, glad I chose Chubb instead. Chris Harris just seems like the older man who is creeping up to Father Time and talks mad trash to other people when his team sucks and he’s always getting burned now, he always comes with backhanded comments and never takes responsibility…he should learn professionalism and keep his mouth shut sometimes, he definitely had no “advice” for John Brown after the game, idk if I want him in the future if he’s going to continue with the arrogant stuff. He should be a leader not a bully.

On another note, I’m flying home to Denver tomorrow for Thanksgiving and staying for a week with family. I wish you 3 a happy thanksgiving.
I was planning on trying to go to the game Sunday, but idk anymore, might have a better time being with family…

Regarding John Elway and the west coast offense when he was a player, he never ran the west coast offense until 1993 when Wade Philips came in as the head coach, and continued with Mike Shannahan from 1995 until he retired after the 1998 season. All those come back wins in the 4th quarter were under Dan Reeves and his very conservative offense that relied heavily on field position and defense. Reeves never unleashed Elway until the 4th quarter after keeping the game close for the first 3 quarters. When Wade Phillips and Mike Shannahan brought in the west coast offense, it was a breath of fresh air for Elway. In a sense it was the 90s version of the air raid, a much more wide open offense that scored a ton of points and really let John open it up for all 4 quarters. I guess I John’s mind, he still remembers how rejuvenating that offense was for him and the Broncos and how they won 2 Super Bowls with it. Stuck in the past maybe, not realizing that these days the west coast offense Is the current version of the Dan Reeves offense, and the air raid is the new west coast offense. We gotta keep up with the times.

New alarm clock sound idea: the bit of Zac whispering “Wake up Wake up” from a while ago, followed by “OPEN YOUR EYES” lol

Question: why did we call timeout at the end of the 3rd Quarter with 2 seconds on the clock? Seemed foolish to allow them to have wind at their back for a big 3rd down play and waste a timeout?

Fellas,

CHJ needs to go. Pray that Callahan can fill those shoes but I am tired of hearing “No one can beat me” then he gets beat for a TD every time. Lock better start this week, I was on the Allen train because he was better then Flacco and still is in my opinion but we need to know what Lock can do. Why have we not signed Kap yet? Seriously, through 2020 on a super team friendly deal, what’s the harm? I was optimistic when they showed the bills first games came against teams that combined for 15-55, oh how my dreams were crushed

Fellas! It’s been awhile since my last post. I finished my assignment doing water rescue and EMS in Antarctica and went straight up to Nova Scotia / Canada to do the same thing. I wasn’t able to chime in on the current state of the Broncos for a bit. It’s probably for the best though, my grandma always said “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”…

However, I’m back in CO for a week and was elated to find a 6er of strawberry sky upon my return! There are just a few points I want to bring up, sorry in advance if you’ve covered them!

1. Just bring Green Chile to thanksgiving. It goes on everything, and it definitely makes turkey better. Especially if it’s leftovers later in the day.

2. You talked a bit about “if Fangio is still the coach next year” on the last pod. Have you heard anything about him getting fired? I’m not sure I can take another new head coach. Give the man some time!

3. For the B

4. Is there any way to include Mase on the Sunday recap pod after away games? Mase, I don’t know exactly what role you play at away games in regards to player/coach interviews, but it would be interesting to get some recorded “knee jerk reactions” to include on the pod. Maybe even some locker room talk or interviews? Do you talk with players after the game? Is it possible to bring some of that to the pod? If not, even a quick voice recording on your take about the vibe from the game would be amazing!

I’ll leave it there fellas. Stay safe, I hear winter is coming….

Mase, you’ve been around the team for a while…

Can you tell me a story about offensive production from yesteryear? Oh how i long for those days…

The offense literally cannot be any worse with Rypien but it’s long since been time for Drew Lock SZN.

November 25, 2019

Guys. This is getting tough. Let’s see what Lock has. I’m ready and pumped for that day. Trying to get away from quarterback talk otherwise, do you think it’s more important to shore up the offensive line or the receiving corps this off-season?

What a pathetic performance from our guys. This reminded me of a game in 2009 vs WSH. Orton got hurt in the game and Chris Simms came in and the offense just died. I think he had -3 yards passing in the half he played. It’s time for Lock to get out there. I’m tired of bad/Terrible Quarterbacking. Also I may be wrong but did Chris Harris get burned by John Brown? It seems like he is losing a step or two this season. Honestly it seemed like they kinda gave up in the game and that’s why John Brown got soooooo open. If Allen is starting next week I’m going to microwave my head. Thank you for listening to my rant.

Just watched the game, open your eyes is right. Honestly pleased with the outcome, now there is absolutely no doubt that Allen can’t be the guy. Also just saw a report the Lock will be named the starter for week 13. Any validity to that report, have you guys heard any rumblings?

I’m turning 30 today, sipping mimosas listening to the pod at noon… Pretty good bday so far, only thing that would make it better is Lock being officially named the starter. Cheers boys!

Guys……who exactly is calling the shot here, is it Elway or Fangio? Cuz there’s some serious blame to be handed down on how awfully they’re mismanaging Lock, I truly feel bad for him, who knows what this insanity is doing to him‬ mentally. If the kid ever was a legitimate possible starting NFL qb, he might not even believe he is for much longer. Did Elway just draft Lock to keep the fans off his back to hedge his bet on Flacco, but when Flacco utterly failed he really didn’t have a back-up plan?? What the F is the plan, the fans at this point deserve to know? Was Flacco all a stunt to ensure the broncos would tank because Elway believes in this qb class more than last year? I can’t make heads or tails of any of this….
