Agree with your comments here. Kamenev has played his way on to waivers unfortunately.

Speaking of Russians not playing all that well? Did Val do anything against the Wild to help his chances to make the team?

He was average. Same as the last game. He will make the team but won’t be a difference maker

I liked Connauton’s game but Graves really struggled.

Nichushkin seems unwilling to absorb anymore punishment than he absolutely needs to and Burakovsky seems contend to ride the coattails of his teammates. Very disappointed thus far in these two.

I’m so glad we are losing games and Ofer on the PP when it doesn’t matter. Going to be time for a nice hot streak when the season opens. Zuccarello and the wild reminded me a lot of Grigorenko and the preseason 16-17 Avs. They were on FIRE baby, FIRE!

So who takes right wing first line if burakovsky can’t handle it

But if rants is still waiting for his new deal, then who?

Burakovsky, honestly. They got him to do that job on the second line. If it really stalls, maybe try Donskoi there.

AJ, great rundown of the game. The video highlights mixed in really rock! Once again, BSN takes covering the avs and hockey to a new level. Awesome. Bummed that AB and VK are showing poorly so far. Hopefully they will figure it out sooner than later. Their window of opportunity has to be closing. If they don’t live up to their hoped for potential, Joe’s roll of the dice will be a bust. But really, how many GM’s deal with this situation every year where a gamble on a players potential turns out to be a bad bet. I am sure GM’s have misery loves company parties where they drink massive amounts of say Breckenridge beer to numb the pain of failed player potential upside projects.

Actually, I was surprised and pleased the Avs did as well as they did given the roster while Minny essentially put up their best guys. It seemed the game was about having another look-see at what the rookies can do, and giving them another NHL type experience before sending most of them back.

As for the Avs “NHL veterans”, aside from Compher, Burakovsky and Nicushkin seem more like AHLers.
I personally think we should keep Bowers and Kaut and let Burakovsky and Nicushkin go to the AHL or back to the KHL.

I’m guessing (hoping) that the Avs put up their best guys against Minny and decimate them – put them in their place – especially since the Minny team will be tired from a back to back and playing at altitude. If the Avs lose in their Sunday game against Minny then I’ll really start worrying.
