As bad as it was, I think everyone needs to relax. We’re missing starters on defense, it was Flacco’s first game, a new system and new personnel. It’s going to take time.

What were your favorite takeaways and who do you think bounces back against Chicago? Mine was definitely Courtland and I think Lindsay has a big game on Sunday.

Despite a horrid game – great post game articles and pod!

Winning our season opener hasn’t ended very well the past 3 years – let’s see how losing it plays out, cotton.

Question: Were raiders just taking Sanders away or was Sutton just balling out and getting open more than him?

I would love nothing more than to take the positive approach to this loss. Wax poetic about the newness of this position or that coach, etc. But I’m sorry, I cannot. What I saw was a low energy effort that bordered on apathy.

While I expected the Raiders to give their best effort, given that this was the final Monday night game in Oakland, I didn’t see our team being willing participants in sending fans home happy. I didn’t expect our team to look like it was somehow less talented, or less prepared. And through it all, what really blew me away was Fangio’s demeanor on the sidelines. He just looked like he was pained to be there. He was often doubled over and I began to wonder if something physical was going on. He just looked worn out. When a team sees that from it’s HC, it can’t be good. Vic needs the booth, I think. It’s going to be a long, difficult season.

Hello darkness my old friend…

It was painfull and full of despair, seemed like Vance Joseph was still there.
Also saw the first half of Washington and Keenum played great, so makes me thing that it was mainly the bad team around him
So many sad feelings,

So I guess there isnt going to be much signing from you guys this season, hope I´m wrong

Much love

My Dudes!!!!
Welcome Mase!!!! Good to have you in the Family. Real quick comment on the game last night. Unless I missed it I didn’t notice any Holding penalties on GB. But I did notice 2 things:
1. On run plays GB would be out in front not blocking. Do you think that this is because the runner was supposed to run outside and they just ran inside which in turn allowed the defender to avoid being blocked and make the tackle?
2. On quite a few run plays the person that made the tackles, or at least initial contact was the person that broke a block from Noah Fant. Thoughts?
3. Retired for Mr. B
4. Mase- 1 hole or 2 holes?

Thank you guys for the amazing coverage, keep up the great work.

Since I tagged you all on Twitter Monday night before the game, I thought I should probably introduce myself. I’ve been a subscriber since right before the draft, but I’ve never commented. I’ve been meaning to, especially with seeing more girls around here I felt I needed to rep the female Bronco fans. Sorry it’s taken so long. No questions today, but I do have a lot of comments built up since the draft, so here goes:

1. Welcome Mase! So glad you’ve joined the family. And I love your profile pics on Twitter, I have a Cavie too, they are best pups! Also glad to have someone on board who’s had a few more birthdays than Ryan and Zac, they make me feel old 😉
2. I’m Arkansas born and raised, but I spent a good chunk of my 20s in Colorado where I fell in love with the state and The Broncos.
3. for Mr. B
4. My first jersey was Tebow jersey. I currently own a blue Manning and an orange Miller. Need a white one now, Lindsey or Chubb is probably next, I can’t decide…
5. Cap’N Crunch is the best cereal. I pour a bowl full of milk and then pour cereal as I go, that way it never gets soggy.
6. Straws don’t have holes, it’s a hollow tube that is open on each end #noholes
7. Elway
8. Hot Pockets are gross, but I admit to eating my fair share back in college.
9. I have trouble finding Breck Brews in Arkansas, but I’ve managed to find a few. Still trying to track down some Strawberry Sky, but so far what I’ve found is Damn Good Beer.
10. Just ordered my Mile High Mafia shirt, anxiously awaiting it’s arrival. I love sporting Broncos gear down here where everyone else is either a Cowboys or Saints fan.

That’s it for today, hope I didn’t go to long. Thanks for all the great content. You guys have made the off-season actually enjoyable, and I’m looking forward to a great season of real football with you! Even when we lose, I know you guys will keep it entertaining.

I’m very sorry for this long comment, but I have a lot of post-game thoughts. Most of my comments aren’t like this.

I mean we played like absolute dog ?. We got beat in all five facets: Offense, defense, special teams, coaching, and ourselves. Piss poor performance from all five. A couple of quick notes; how do you not call that facemask to Flacco’s dome on third and goal, but instead, call a ticky-tack holding call? Garbage. And how, in 2019 on God’s green earth, are we still playing on a DIRT football field? I mean, what? Anyway, here’s my breakdown.

Individual players: Isaac yiadom put together one of the worst games of football from a DB I’ve ever seen. Just horrible. Chubb and Miller: literally non-existent. That part was embarrassing. Carr had zero pressure in his face for all 26 attempts. Zero. Unacceptable. Desean Hamilton: in a way, single-handedly cost us the game. Bad, bad day for him. Lastly (for now), Juuwan James being hurt is a major issue.

Coaching decisions: running the ball on first and ten…. Every. Single. Time. Tried running trick plays (swinging gate) at horrible times. Trying to kick a 64-yard field goal off of dirt for his first (or second kick) of the year. You might as well throw the hail Mary, there was a 0% chance he makes that. (To his credit, given the circumstances, fantastic kick. I don’t blame him.) Playing Yiadom 8 yards off of the receiver on third down to end the game? Inexcusable. Gotta take your chance on press coverage there, even though he’s been terrible. Almost no blitzes all night with no pressure on Carr? I don’t get it. Another thing was the lack of deep balls and play action. In my opinion, you can’t kick that last field goal. 8 minutes left in the game and even if you don’t get the first down, you’re still down two possessions. To be fair, I think if Flacco doesn’t get sacked the play before, they go for it. I’m sure there’s more, but I’ll stop there for now.

Time for some positives.
Great, great game from Cortland Sutton. Good for him, he needed that. Emmanuel Sanders, Phillip Lindsay, and Royce Freeman also looked very good. Flacco’s deep ball looked good, the ONE time they threw it. Noah fant had a decent game, kinda back and forth from him, but it’s his first game as a rookie. I’ll cut him a break.

The biggest positive of all:
Time for what you’ve all been waiting for. As badly as I think we got beat in all facets of the game, we only lost by 8 to a Raiders team that played FLAWLESSLY at home on a dirt field that only they are used to. They (Raiders) won’t play that well again, mark my words, and we still stayed in the game despite shooting ourselves not only in the foot, but in both arms, and once where the sun don’t shine. We handed them that game and still had a chance to win it. This team will be fine, but they need a quick turnaround. A real quick one, for our sanity and their own. I’m confident in this coaching staff’s ability to turn things around, I don’t think this season is a bust yet!

That’s all for now, thanks for coming to my Ted talk. Sorry about the long comment, but we love you guys and can’t wait to hear what you have to say. Go Broncos!

Excellent summary Mr. Scott. I am worried about the coaching. We never seemed to adjust. That is concerning.
