Colorado State football received its second verbal commitment in as many days. Thursday afternoon, Weston Lee Wallace announced his intent to sign with the Rams via Twitter.

Listed at 6-foot-4, 341 pounds, Wallace is the second offensive tackle with size to commit to CSU this week. The Rams also received a verbal commitment from Brian Crespo—a 6-foot-7, 320-pound, local talent from Poudre High School in Fort Collins.

According to 247Sports, Wallace’s only offer is from CSU. The offensive lineman from Gatewood School in Eatonton, Georgia, joins a long list of players out of SEC Country to commit to CSU in the last five years.

In 2019, CSU signed two players from Georgia and they signed three the year before that. With so many of Mike Bobo’s assistant coaches having backgrounds in the south, it’s no surprise that the Rams continue to intensely recruit the region.

NCAA rules prohibit coaches from commenting on players before they have signed a National Letter of Intent, but Bobo retweeted Wallace’s post shortly after it went public. The early signing period begins Dec. 18. The early period is when Wallace and his fellow 2020 commits will first be eligible to sign an NLI.

2020 commits:

DE Casey Irons (Gilmer, TX.)

DE Briceon Hayes (Huntsville, TX.)

OG Uriah Greene (Charlotte, NC.)

ATH Chase Wilson (Arvada, CO.)

OT Brian Crespo (Fort Collins, CO.)

OT Weston Lee Wallace (Eatonton, GA.)
