After reading Rk’s’ story i tailed off my instant reaction to Fangio’s comments on Lock.
However i just get this feeling that Lock is not Fangio’s guy. I know he is a little old school and likes to call guys out, but this just feels different. Maybe he believes in him sooo much that he just knows he can do better…
But i don’t get that feeling at all. Ya’ll are closer than we can ever get, what is your take? Does Fangio just see more for Lock, or was this John’s pick and ole Vic wants nothing to do with him.
Thank guys!

I just realized that next week is Paxton’s first game as a Seahawk (and conveniently against the Broncos!) and I can’t tell y’all how excited I am for that!

Hey guys after seeing how explosive Muhammad could be thoughts on him potentially being the 3rd down back over Riddick or Booker should he continue to progress?

Would it be a possibility that we could get something for Hogan in a trade because even with him looking good in the first pre season game there really does not seem like there is a place for him on this team.

Hey boys, I know Vic was a stud last night and I hope he is better today but he has started a new culture with the Broncos even though he doesn’t want one. The new Broncos culture is called winning boys, 1-0 in the Vic Fangio era. We know the HOF and the next 4 games do not count but they sure do matter if you want the rookies to start their beginning in the NFL/Broncos setting a winning culture from the get go. My takeaway from the game was it was a very intertaining SNF game on a Thursday. We all know we should not be overeacting but Winfree showed he is a gamer/baller and a real steal in the 6th. round. We did learn the Broncos backups/depth is better than the Dirty Birds. Many of our players were impressive to say the least playing against comparable talent on the other team. I have to mention Matt Shaub is done in the NFL. Their 3rd. string kid that was injured was the best QB on the field last night. I hope he recovers, so he can put Matt out to pasture. The SNF crew was in mid-season form for Aug. 1st. By the way, Aug. 1st. is Colorado Day and it certainly was. Get well Vic and as always GO BRONCOS.

New sub from up north I beautiful British Columbia ??, been free loading since December and pulled the trigger while on the ferry over to Vancouver and can’t wait to get my shirt and rock it at work in front of all the cheese ball Seahawks fans up here!
Only real question for y’all is regarding Lock; was his shaky play due to the porous OL he was playing behind or is it more his development as a passer that needs work (or possibly a bit from both columns)?
Thanks gents for all you do, by far the BEST Broncos coverage out there and the Denver Sports podcast is legit! I love BSN so happy to have found it after one of RK’s tweets last season.
Cheers

So Zac was saying the other day about Vic being (in essence) the Def. coordinator and Scangs running the offence. I’ve been thinking something along the lines of this for a while but it begs the question, who is the ‘head coach’? Obviously it’s Vic, but if he’s focussed heavily on the defence, then who is taking the role of the traditional head coach, looking at both sides of the ball equally?

Is it crazy to either of you that Josey Juul isn’t just a starting ILB year two, but an unquestioned one at that? Sounds like since Todd’s injury, they’ve only been playing guys next to Juul and that his spot isn’t just safe but rock solid.
The whole offseason was about whether Juul can take that jump and crack the starting lineup, but he might not have what Fang is looking for. It seems like Juul quietly locked himself in as a starter with barely a peep.

PS On the penalties at practice: Seems easy enough to tell one player to commit a penalty during the down without telling the whole team – especially telling a vet like Wolfe.
It tests consistency between downs. Guys have to get ready for the down, get interrupted, move some amount of yardage, and then try to do it all again with the same focus. Hard to have the same will to attack after that interruption.
It seems even more scripted because of the two penalties in question. It tested the offense and defense on their readiness down after down and then still resulted in the same down and distance scenario that Fangio wanted to test. Especially after both the offense and the defense at to get to the line and get ready for the snap twice before the actual snap.
It’s practicing continued focus, despite derailments. It also practices the team’s approach to penalties. Are the guys supposed to give the offending player a “pat on the back” or are those near supposed to bark at him to “lock in man.” Practiced penalties that seem organic because Vic only told the offending player to commit the penalty (or even more conspiratorial, told the ref to call it no matter what) test what the team does when penalized and if they are sticking the the Fangio script, even between plays, and if they stay locked in.

I don’t know if you’ve seen the video of Baker shotgunning a beer at an Indians game but man am I jealous of the people of Cleveland. A sentence I never thought I’d say in my life. Baker is just such an easy guy to root for, we need one.

Hey gents!
Aren’t we all always hungry for something new to be intrigued about? How much media fodder would we have if Fangio coached from the box, but then occasionally came down, during the game? Every week the questions about why he descended or not would fill our periodicals. Better than that, though, would be Fangio’s answers to those media questions. Im waiting for his “ you talking to me? I don’t see anyone else here, so you must be talking to me,” answer. I’m all for him having an eye in the sky with an option to make a sideline appearance when he deems it necessary. Just one more thing to obsess over. When and what will the BSN Fangio shirt be? Ironically, you tout your shirts softness, but I think the Fangio shirt’s pliability should never be the focus of the sales. It’s got to be a crew neck, right?

I’m writing to inform you that Austin Fort will not be entering a realm of eternal life with this team unless he gets out of his breaks much faster. It looks like he is rounding a turnpike in a ramshackle carriage – meanwhile, I need a swift shape-changer on my side. Mr. Fant will be on a short leash if he can’t handle the rock with a little more style and grace. Pinkies out!
