I reached for the stop button when you guys started talking about trading for Paul fucking Stastny. When trading Jost for him was mentioned I threw up in my mouth a little and hit the button so who knows where that conversation went. He’s a career 40 point player except for two seasons, both coincidentally contract years. I’ll be damned if I can figure out Avs fans’ obsession with getting him back or the obsession we seem to have with getting back every player who ever wanted to leave. It’s like a lonely hearts club.
Speaking of obsessions the Avs are going to finally get Nylander next week after that 8 million dollar bonus gets paid. They may even retain salary on Barrie to do it, that’s what the Soda trade was about. I can feel it in my bones.

(The stuff about Stastny may be just a tad over the top but he is a 40 point player, look it up. Plus he screwed over my team. I will shed a small tear if he ever wears an Avs jersey again but I’d likely get over it)
You missed out then as no one mentioned trading Jost. Barrie was jokingly mentioned and then it spiralled into a scenario of what trading a piece of the defence does to the roster when we also have two players recovering from off-season surgery. But a Barrie trade for Nylander (though I’m not sure Toronto bites) is fun and that roster looks great. But the conversation following the Statsny discussion is then relevant when you lose Barrie and potentially do not have Johnson and Cole for the beginning of the season.

There might have been some hallucinogens in whatever I ate last night because I’m pretty sure I heard AJ say “what if we have to send a roster guy?” Rudo say “NHL roster?” AJ “yes” Rudo “who?” AJ “Jost” and then Rudo say, “that kind of upside?” and then I turned the pod off because I was going to bed soon and didn’t want any nightmares. Maybe now that it’s no longer dark outside I’ll go back and listen to the rest…
That definitely happened but that was the end of it. We quickly moved on from Jost because neither of us were down with trading Jost for two years of a mid-30s Paul Stastny
