To start, pardon the litany. Blood sausage and black pudding are absolutely delicious. They both have a rich flavor and, depending on how they’re cooked, a fantastic texture. I’ve had great and terrible blood sausage, and it definitely comes down to who’s cooking. I understand the squimishness, but come on. Try it

As for CHJ, let’s play a best case scenario: he ages similar to Champ Bailey. While there was a steep decline after he turned 35, he was still effective until then. Guys, that’s five years for Chris. That’s 5 years of competent play, after which you can either pawn him off for an extra draft pick, or convert him to safety and let him ride off into the glorious orange and blue sunset of retirement. Worst case scenario, like you said, Darrelle Revis. If you want to keep him, offer him a ridiculous contract before he tests free agency. 3 years, 16+ mil per year. Play chicken. Push your competition to see what their willing to pay. If they bite, their overpaying for a slowly declining, older all pro corner. If they don’t, you’ve a career bronco, a fan favorite (merch will pay for itself if it hasn’t already) , and (depending on Chris) a potential CB coach after he retires. Side note: I might be too much of an optimist.

Also, I don’t care if it’s ‘bad’ for you, a nice glass of cold water settles the stomach and tastes great. Since your body has to work to warm it up, congratulations, your burning calories. Win win

Good day to you both,

Jerseys – first couple I can remember having were a TD#30 jersey.. and a nice #14 Brian Griese jersey. Tell me why I grew up idolizing him..

2 framed pictures, and a jersey for the 2000 Pro Bowler.

I always told people I recall Terrell Davis running wild and Brian Griese as the QB as my first few broncos memories. oh well on to 2019 #LockforMVP

Good day fellas. It has been a while since I have commented. And I feel like now is a good time to jump back in.

Jerseys- my first ever jersey I got when I was in the second grade. A Brian Greese Jersey! Lol.
I have since have had a Champ Bailey, Peyton Manning, Von Miller Super Bowl MVP edition with the patch, the blue jersey (my favorite). Last year I got a Bradley Chubb jersey and this year I plan on snagging a Phillip Lindsay one. And I am also with Ryan. I keep them all. Still have the Greese jersey, my daughter wears it to bed sometimes lol.

Quick question. I’ll be in Denver June 22nd-July5th. Any BSN events going on? I doubt it but worth an ask. Or just any events feel free to throw a suggestion my way!!

Hey guys to chime in on the CHJ contract news per rapport the deal isn’t as crazy as I thought before reading the tweet, it said that to get to 12.05 mil he basically was given 600,000 to sign, 650,000 to show up to his first practice, and a 1 mil roster bonus, plus his base salary that he already had. Seeing the numbers spelled out like that I felt like we really didn’t have to affect the cap at all so why not make Chris happy if all you had to do was give up cash that isn’t even yours (elways)

“Vertical Socks” is indeed a reference to the vertically striped socks of the Broncos’ first uniforms. “Vertically Striped Socks” just sounded too ponderous for a username.
MIke Klis tweeted this afternoon: “Joe Flacco remains Broncos’ best QB by far. But Kevin Hogan has been next best.” Is this just an overreaction to Hogan having his best day so far at practice, or has Hogan really been the second best QB at OTAs?

Did you guys see Emmanuel Sanders taking batting practice at Colts field? I guess he is almost 100%. I would like swinging a baseball bat puts some tension and torque on your Achilles

Good afternoon My Dudes!!!

You guys are hilarious! We listen to you guys try to figure out who we are and what we are about, with so little information. You guys are awesome, and I really enjoy listening and now participating as a subscriber.

BeardedBronco has 2 references:
1. I do now have a full beard and am in the process of growing it out to the 6” off my chin you mentioned today. I was watching some videos on Denverbroncos.com and realized that my current beard looks like Tyler Polumbus’s.
2. A much more simple reason is my last name is Beard.

I have 2 Broncos Jerseys: My go to is Terrell Davis and I have a Payten Manning which I got in a silent auction.

Ryan, I know you mentioned that you have to use the community grills if you want to grill some food, do you have a balcony? If you do you might want to look into a Traeger. I ditched the regular old BBQ Grill with propane or charcoal and purchased a Traeger Wood pellet convection Grill and smoker. One of the best purchases I ever made. Surprisingly my 2 favorite things to cook on the grill are Nachos and Pizza. So, my wife started buying these Gluten Free Frozen pizzas from Costco and I threw one on the grill and was amazed that a Frozen Pizza, Gluten Free nun the less could taste so good. It was like it was cooked in a wood burning oven. Perfect crust all around and under. And the Nachos are equally amazing.

As always keep up the good work.

Hey guys, I wanted to throw in my thoughts on the jersey discussion. My first was a Karl Mecklenburg. These days, at the “apparently too old” age of 38, I’m rocking a custom number 13 jersey that my ol lady got me with my own last name on it. (I was a little too happy when Trevor went away)

For the future I think I’ll be getting a Derek Wolfe. I know his time with the team is limited, but he loves this team to the bone and he was a major player in a superbowl winning defense. Plus, we’re both white guys with dreadlocks so I could always call it cosplay.

Put your brats In a smoker with hickory chips. 225 degrees for 2 hours.

Can I assume Zac has never had a microwavable burrito?

Hey guys. So I know some are nascar fans and some are not (Ryan), I will be doing the flyover for the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky motor speedway on July 13th. Also, any Chicago area fans???? I will be doing an airshow display there aug 17-18. Now football…i am fine with chj leaving next year. I think we should draft a safety with Simmons resigned and move Kareem back to corner and by then our depth will be better or just draft a corner. Question…. what has been the intriguing thing you have seen at OTAs so far??? Thanks for the coverage!!!!!!!

Good morning to the 2 (3 today?) great men!

Been a while since a post so thought I’d comment. Happy to see the back of CHJ contract drama, I think we all knew it was going to be resolved but the sooner the better or else we’d be potentially be stuck with someone like… Jamar Taylor! Yeah, that’s the guy! Anyway been waiting to ask a couple of question and didn’t want to jinx the CHJ situation. Firstly, we all know players move and we deal with it, but where do you stand on a player’s legacy with a team if it ends poorly (ie-leveon bell in Pittsburgh), do you think their exit impacts how they are viewed long term in that town/team?

Secondly, on players who have left this offseason, who do you think will have the greatest impact in their new surroundings (or landed in the best spot for them, as you guys please)? To help you out:

Case (Minn)
Shane (Ravens)
Jordan Taylor (Minn)
Shaq (Tampa)
Garcia (Arizona – good luck to your boy Ryan if this guy ‘s a required player!)
Paradis (Carolina)
Roby (Texans – so your telling me we pretty much traded Roby for Jackson? Almost doesn’t seem fair)
Turner (Packers)
Lacosse (Pats), and
Brandon Marshall (I can’t bring myself to type it!)

Also, have loved college football for the longest time but never felt myself attached to any team, so count me in as a Buffs fan from now on, why (effin’) not! #gobuffs

PS – (you guys don’t have to read this out as it’s more for you) – Thanks HEAPS for the 5 year anniversary shout out from last month, I’m still not sure how my girlfriend got on to you guys but was really cool. Loved it!

Hey guys!
When you guys started talking about Marquette King, you reminded me of the last jersey I was planning on getting, before the Texans game:
B-Mac!
What are your thoughts on special team jerseys, in general?

Hey guys won’t be my first comment on the pod but it is my first since becoming a subscriber. My first broncos jersey was a Brandon Marshall #15…it was a surprise gift on my 12th birthday from my dad. I was shocked because my dad is a die hard 49er fan and always hated my love for broncos. My pops is a true football vet so ofcourse he got it a couple sized bigger and it still fits to this day!! As for the subject of broncos you went to high school with …i went to high school with Booker at grant union high in Sacramento (pacers 4 life!!) unfortunately booker is one year older than me and my last year on JV he won state with varsity ..i can’t complain too much we where a top 3 team in the state my last two years but i never got one of those giant rings booker did . So yea listening to denver media(including you guys) bash him all last off-season was not the easiest thing … i believe RK comment about me was “this must be bookers brother or something” lol …well I’ve only knew him since Pop Warner football at the age of 8 so maby you guys can understand why i cringe everytime Ryan calls him “just a guy” ..i know u guys don’t agree but i fully believe he is better than freeman and i hope he gets his chance to prove it this season !!! Hey at least i don’t have to hear you guys talk about his 3.4 ypc as he put that narrative to bed last season with limited snaps ….also hot pockets are terrible don’t do it !!

May 30, 2019

What’s up guys. My first Broncos jersey was Terrell Davis, also my all time favorite Bronco. I’ve always thought jerseys are a fun way to show support for your team.
While watching practice, have you guys noticed Risner playing multiple positions? Or just left guard at this point? Just curious to see what combo comes out in week 1. Can’t wait for the season.

Chad Kelly is long gone and Rypien is here to fill his role as a low cost/potential upside QB. But I still root for Kelly and would like to see him succeed in the league. Do you guys think he makes the roster in Indianapolis? They’ve got a pretty crowded QB room out there.

Hey guys, no questions today but figured I’d chime in on jerseys. First off I never even considered buying a Peyton Manning jersey for the simple reason I still don’t consider him primarily a Bronco as most of his career was in with the Colts. With this said when I got my first jersey it was 2012 with my dad and he immediately picked a Manning jersey but I hadn’t started following the football that closely because the Tebow year made me start watching so I still didn’t know many players. I ended up going with a white Von jersey even though I didn’t know much about him but my grandpa had just passed and I remembered him raving about how good this kid was so I chose Von because he was my grandpa’s favorite. Over the next few years I acquired a Sanders, Harris, DT, and far more now, but for super bowl 50 I was wearing that white Von jersey so I think I made the right choice. Sorry for the long post without a question but just wanted to chime in on the jersey thing, keep up the good work Ryan, Zac, and hopefully soon Henry!

What did you guys have for lunch today? So with Fangio inheriting a better team than John Fox did, we should expect the Broncos to be a wild card team? Question for Broncos county, what made you guys a Broncos fan? I had a love for horses when I a little boy. So my dream car was a mustang, and that love led me to the Broncos in elementary school. I went to my first Broncos game two years ago against the Charges in the season opener. We won that game luckily. Cheers!

Yo fellas, growing up, Shannon Sharpe was always my favorite player. Seeing Noah Fant in the orange and blue makes me so excited.. there’s just something about a dangerous receiving tight end that I find incredibly entertaining. Unfortunately, I keep hearing the criticism that he has inconsistent hands. I just wanted to hear your take on this, and whether or not you believe catching is a skill the coaching staff can help him fix, or is this just something that will plague him his entire career. Much love fellas, best sports podcast out there!
