Unfortunately it hasn’t worked out for Koekkoek so far, but it was nice to see someone from my small hometown being drafted that high and in the NHL

I’m going to be happy to get either Byram or Turcotte. Watching both of those guys has pretty much taken away the bitterness of losing out on the top two. We’re going to get a top 6 forward or top pairing d-man that we flat out lucked into. This is going to be a fun summer and a fun next 10 years.
If Byram is the pick at 4, chances are a pretty good forward could fall to 16. I almost think the Avs should go for a forward at 16 no matter what happens at 4. The best forward at 16 is likely to be a better talent than the best D at 16.
