I think we’ve been too quick to want to move Risner to OG. He is PFFs #1 OT. I usually trust PFF. What are they seeing that we aren’t?

Check 1 2… Is this thing on? Hey ya’ll, first time commenting and new subscriber. I’ll start by saying that I love the show! Draft coverage was great and I love who we got. Fant, Risner, and Lock all have tremendous upside and the value where we drafted them is undeniable. I do think we all need to take a breath on Lock though. He has a great personality and tenacity but has some worrisome stats. Ya’ll are making him sound like the second coming of Elway himself! Let’s pretend for a moment Darth Lock doesn’t quite workout (a scary concept, I know) does that spell the end for Elway as GM? Thanks for the incredible content!

When the time comes, who makes the decision to play Lock over Flacco? Does Elway make that call or does Fangio? More broadly, around the NFL, who makes that decision? The GM or the HC?

I’d love to see Lock take #6 and say it’s because he’ll be twice as good as he was in college.

Regarding Flacco and mentoring Lock. I remember how bad it looked on Big Ben in Pittsburgh when he out right said that he will not take the time to mentor Rudolph. Is that bad PR going to come around on Flacco, too. Or is this a different situation altogether?

Zac and Ryan,

Dobry den! I had no idea you studied abroad in Prague, Zac. I have been living in Prague for the past 1.5 years working as an English teacher and am moving back to the U.S. this summer. It’s truly one of the coolest places in the world and is still enough of a hidden gem that most people don’t know about it. A beer lover’s paradise. The people who know, know. 🙂

To the commenter yesterday asking about following the Broncos in Ireland, good luck! One upside is you’ll find some cool little communities of expats and local fans to watch games with. I’ve networked and made friends for life in small bars at 3:00 in the morning. Another cool thing is it’s almost like getting an extra day in the fall. You’ll be amazed by the amount of time you have to get things done every Sunday. I would use that “eighth day” to run all my errands, clean my apartment, get a lot of reading in, etc. It’s magic. Now to the harsh reality: Mondays. Are. Brutal. I’m thankful to have had the flexibility to create my own schedule and avoid working Monday mornings and hope you are able to do the same or your reality will be distorted and you’ll be playing catch up all week.

Living abroad really is one of the coolest experiences a person can have and one more people should consider if they have the opportunity. Looking forward to coming home and watching football at a reasonable hour but will always treasure my experiences.

Aloha fellas from the 808 State!

Since the draft ended I’ve been looking forward to posting a comment again so bear with me as I get a few things out. First, this was the most fun and exciting draft in a long time. Riding with BSN as a 2nd year subscriber, the “road to the draft” was once again an awesome experience for me. Not only was I a more informed Broncos fan going into the draft thanks to RK, Z-money, and Andre, but I was a more informed NFL fan!

Now everyone knows that last year’s draft class was excellent. Well I thought this year’s draft proved that 2018 was not a fluke. Like everyone else, I am so excited that we got Lock at such a great value, but I am also excited about finally getting a promising offensive lineman in Risner and an exciting weapon in Fant at tight end. I cannot wait for these guys to take the field and the balance of power in the AFC West shifts back to Denver.

Ok so onto my question.

I saw Von Millers video of him calling Fant, Risner and Lock after they were drafted. At Flacco’s first press conferences when he was introduced, he was asked if any of the players called him or if he spoke to anyone before arriving. His answer was that he’s only spoken to both Kareem Jackson and Ja’Wuan James who were on the same plane with him. I don’t want to read too much into this snippet, but I found that as odd because if I’m not mistaken even Case Keenum said he was getting calls from players congratulating him and welcoming him once his deal was announced.

So my questions is, from what you’ve seen or heard so far, can you share any insight on Flacco’s interactions with the other players? It may be too soon to tell but I ask because I think once Lock has a chance to get settled in the locker room with the other “kids” (as Flacco referred to them), I think that Lock, with his personality, talent and closer age, will have a “lock” on the other players over Joe.

Anyway, thanks guys and looking forward to the quarterback score board through training camp!

Hey fellas?? Can’t express enough how thankful I am to have such good content to listen to while traveling and such a great community here at BSN! It’s more than just a podcast you guys have literally changed lives and it’s all thanks to you guys for starting the movement. Ok I have a hype comment here, if I told you guys a year ago we would have Garret Bolles, Ron Leary, Connor McGovern, Dalton Risner , Juwan James battling in the trenches with Mike FRIGGEN Munchak as our o-line coach you would be happy right? Oh wait it gets better, picture this Philip Lindsay in the backfield when the balls snapped on a 3rd and medium play action while Emmanuel Sanders is burning a slant route, Noah Fant drag route beating the safety as Cortland Sutton is wide open up the side line as DREW LOCK scans the field!!!!! If that’s not enough we have the best defensive coordinator arguably of the last 10 years as our head coach we will have Miller, Chubb and the mile high mafia at the helms of our defense.! I haven’t been this excited about this team since 2015 broncos and that was cause of the defense just laying on the field like fog there wasn’t an opening for offenses to score and we choked them out. Sorry for the long post guys but I’m pumped and cannot wait for this years team! I absolutely love the pod and it’s worth it’s weight in gold! P.S I’m ok will all of the above even if Flacco as the QB, just excited for drew if you couldn’t tell

Hey guys,

What’s with the hate for Flacco, give the man some love, he is a proven QB who has won multiple playoff games, this can´t be said by most of Bronco´s former QB’s. I like Elway´s plan to keep Lock behind Joe and let him learn the offense and how the game is played in the NFL,
I beleive that we should be rooting for Joe to have a great year, honestly I think this is the best scenario for the Broncos. Please don´t wish for Flacco to have a bad year!
And when the time is right Lock will step on and drive this team.
Besides Elway, Manning and Plummer, Flacco (sadly) might be the best QB that we´ve had so far.

Foodwise, Blood is a delicacy in many countries, I have eaten it the way they do it in Spain which is kind of like a sausage mixed with rice
, It is hard to describe the flavour but it is kind of like a mixture of beans and beats, not great but not bad. It is called “Morcilla” (hope Zac is reading this, LOL)
Much love
PS Do you know where is Peko?

Awesome pod fellas. This Drew Lock momentum is getting out of control. I remember when Paxton got drafted and was never really excited about it. Especially this kind of excited like I am with Lock. I just remember watching the clip of Paxton doing the Gruden QB Camp and sitting down to watch film with Jon Gruden and saying “Oh? I didn’t even know we had film!” Like WTF man?! Lol how do you not know that? He just seemed like such an air head that was never really invested into being a franchise QB.

My question is, now that he’s gone, can we talk about why the Paxton Lynch experiment never worked? Like are the rumors of him spending all his free time playing xbox and not knowing the playbooks? Was he just not a hard worker? I just want to know the inside scoop of what you guys heard about him and why he struggled so much to beat out freaking Mark Sanchez and 7th rounder Trevor Siemien.

Anyway…….DDDDRRREEEEWWWW DDDDRRREEEEWWWW (my version of chew chew lol) All aboard the Lock train. Keep up the great work fellas

How much cap room do the Broncos have? I know it will be less once rookies get contracts.

The BSN Open would be when? What golf courses are possibilities?

Fellas! No question today just two comments. First, I’ve been listening to all of this blood talk like “No way. I’m out. Check Please!” But then I remembered that in my younger days (around your age) I was in the Philippines and drank cobra blood; as in, the cobra was skinned right in front me me, the blood was drained into a cup, and I drank some of it. One and done as far as I’m concerned.
Also, I know I’m preaching to the choir, but I hate the narrative by some in the national media on John Elway and Drew Lock. They’ll say, “Well Drew Lock could be good. But Elway sucks at drafting QBs, so I’m gonna give this pick a C-grade.” Has Elway struggled drafting QBs? Sure, of course. But are you telling me, if Oakland picked him at 40 or Detroit at 43, that he’d suddenly be a better pick just because Elway wasn’t the one who made it? *smh

To add to the Justin Hollins at inside linebacker idea he has similar specs to temaine edmunds and with inferior tutelage edmunds put up almost identical stats to roquan Smith, maybe Vic fangio had some buyers remorse and Hollins is his way to remedy that…

I used NFL Game Pass for several years when I lived overseas in Japan, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia. It’s an awesome subscription. It cost me $200 a year for the maximum package, although there are cheaper options available. You can watch the games live, or they are archived to watch later anytime if you are sleeping or at work when they come on live. The package also includes NFL Network and Red Zone. Worth every penny.

First thing to answer your question, I never experienced a different PBR. It was usually Tsing Tao, pronounced “Ching Dao”, and Tiger. My students thought budweiser was what Americans wanted but…traaaash. The McDonald’s were similar with some unique items such as a burger with a hotdog on it and congee for breakfast. Papa John’s was like an upscale pizza restaurants and KFC was probably the most popular of the American chains.

As for bronco talk is there any history of linebacker development from fangio from players that were not naturally a MLB, such as our guy from Oregon?

Thanks as always
