Bednar: F. 0/4 on the same shit PP he’s enabled all season long, and his team had no urgency the entire game. Maybe scratch Bourque and Nemeth for some real players like Greer and Graves, before it’s too late.

Watching the power play can damned sure be frustrating. And PP’s are always up and down.
But the Avs’ PP finished the year @ 22% — that was good for 7th in the league.

I like what I’ve seen from Greer and Graves, at times. But they have been too inconsistent.
Nemeth has been solid lately. And Bourque has been pretty steady all year. There’s a reason Bednar put him out there when game 81 was tied and the Avs were on the PK for over a minute to end the game.
Having Greer and Graves in the lineup wouldn’t win this series.

I disagree with your take on the third goal. Grubauer was screened, but it was not tipped. That’s not a terrible goal to give up, as it’s obviously tough to track a puck through a screen, but I don’t think it “[wasn’t] the fault of Grubi, though, as [it was just a] silly deflection.” It’s a tough save to make, but not an impossible one. I agree that the first two he didn’t have much of a chance on; the second one especially was a beauty of a tip.

Certainly wasn’t on the refs tonight but boy…

Eric furlatt: A- (against the avs haha) sure had his usual blinders on against the avs.

Our defense is pathetic starting with Johnson. He’s not a leader. How could he have possibly taken that penalty against Tkachuk. He fiddles with the puck instead of making a quick clean pass or shot. And what the heck was he doing on that first goal?

Do you think Rants will be reunited with Landy and Mac? At least one line needs to get going. And of course special teams…

Let’s be honest, the first goal was a soft one. Grubie lost balance and sailed on on the ice not able to get in position for any kind of save. That worries me only because it was the first soft goal he allowed in a long time and then he got shaky after that. Smith in the other net is really a weird fellow. Most goalies are but he’s really on over drive mentally. I thought about it all game until Flames started scoring, that if the Avs can break that mental wall of Smith, they have this series. Because Avs played good until the first goal. But Grubie must pick himself up. Yes it’s a mental game more than anything right now.
