Big fan, thanks for all the coverage, particularly game grades.
Re Jost, think you guys are a bit harsh. Think it’s clear Avis management share some blame for mishandling Jost. He was a true freshman at UND and had a great season as second highest on team in points at 18 yrs old. But that was the Avs nightmare season and they called him up after his freshman NCAA season ended. Then he had his first full season with the Avs at 19 and posted 22 pts.
Compare that to Miko. He arrived at 19 and had a whole season in the AHL at San Antonio. First season with the Avs at 20 and he is physically a beast so he was more than ready.
Then they seemed to learn their lesson though when you consider the handling of Cale Makar. His freshman season at UMass he was 19 and was a disappointment so they let him stay at UMass for his sophomore season at 20 and now is smashing it. I think their patience with Makar comes from the lesson they learned from rushing Jost.
So lets cut Jost some slack. And this run to the playoffs just may create some new legends, hoping it’s Jost and Grubie.

Ya think? I’m going to file this one in the same place as the pod last May when they pooh-poohed trading for Jeff Skinner before all urging it to happen a few months later saying he’d be “perrrrrfect” for the Avs.
Anyone who thinks Tyson Jost will never be more than a 10-15 goal scorer doesn’t understand the ambition that burns inside of him plus probably has some basic vision problems. The Avs have pretty badly mishandled his development but he’s still likely to overcome it with this organization if not another one.
