I remember three years ago there was a game against Minnesota at home under similar circumstances. The Avs got shut out and the hope was gone. It was really cool to see them win a big game tonight against the Wild.

I said before that game the result would define the Patrick Roy era. Strange how this one doesn’t seem to define the Bednar era in the same way. Though if they go on a big run and make the postseason, history will likely look upon this game as it does that one three years ago.

I’d love the playoffs, but if not, lose for Hughes is an OK option.

Always great to beat the Wild, especially in Minny. You summed it up well AJ. It is a Forrest Gump type of a season for the Avs. “Life is a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get” type of season. Now the Avs just need to “Run” if they want the postseason. Plus a little help from the Kings!

That was good writing. A refreshing change from contemporary journalism.

I have a soft spot for the wild. The state creates a lot of great American hockey players, lost their first nhl team to Texas of all places, and rarely “ goons” it up. But this team isn’t good enough for the post season. Their goalie is excellent, Parise and Suter are excellent, but the lower lines weren’t there. Their fans, who understand hockey, probably deserve a better team. I only see a mugging for them if they make the playoffs. The Avs on the other hand… who knows!

It was a sad day for Minnesota when the North Stars went south. Sacrilegious really. I liked the North Stars as a 3rd or 4th favorite as a kid.
Soft spot for the Wild no way. Empathy for Minnesota fans when they lost the North Stars sure.

Sure wish the Avs could get some secondary scoring! MacK is clearly doing it all himself with his 2 (1G, 1A) of the Avs last 10 points. /sarcasm
And these were big, important games.

I feel like the players could just read this to pump themselves up for the rest of the season! Great read as always ?

Don’t forget, AJ, we also lost to 2 teams at home that we hadn’t lost against at home since the 1990s, the Canes and the Bruins. Definitely an insane season.
